Your owner's manual should give you the approved filter numbers required. Then you can just go on Amazon and type in the Model # and they will normally bring you straight to the listing for the part. If that doesn't get you to one that will work you could always call the manufacture and talk to technical support, and they should be able to guide you to an approved replacement.

A 2008 model is probaly passed its best by date. Could be the relay contacts welding up, could be a sensor though ...

Since you say it's new, it should be under warranty. I would call GE (see your owner's manual) to get a local authorized service center. Then while you're on the phone with the service center, you can start it up and hold the phone close to it to demonstrate to the technician how loud it is. They should be able to tell you if it will be covered under warranty so you get it fixed free.

GE dehumidifiers use F2 to indicate a problem with one of several sensors. It's impossible to tell which sensor is the problem and they cost $30-50 each. Since the problem recurred after you unplugged the unit, the problem is a faulty sensor. Unless the unit is under warranty, it's cheaper to replace the dehumidifier. Since the other sensors will usually fail soon due to the moisture inside the dehumidifier, trying to replace one sensor at a time just extends the life of the unit for a relatively short time. There are no parts lists or diagrams for the ADER40LNQ1 that I can find. If the unit is still covered by the manufacturer's warranty, then contact GE. It is a cooling fan used for cooling of magnatron as the temperature of magnatron rises when microwave mode is used, cooling saves this component from any defect.

You have a dead short to ground. They are too dangerous to work inside them. There is a step up transformer capacitor with 120,000 volts stored in it waiting for you to come within a half inch if it. There is a heavy metal poisonous core in the magnetron and radiation to make you blind in about 6 to 8 seconds of exposure. Take it in for repair.

Yes. Faulty door interlock switches. Replace the door switches with the correct ones.

Additional info not in the procedure link above:

Remove the one screw at the top of the front control panel.
Slide the control panel up to disengage it, and pull out slowly (has wires on back)
There are four black rectangular things running top-to-bottom on the PCB board on the back. One of them is labeled RY1.
Tap on RY1 with a screwdriver a few times (very high tech). I actually tapped on all of them for good measure.
Reassemble, see if everything works now.

It took me about 30 minutes for the bulb and the control panel 'adjustment'. Everything is working now.

1. Unplug the microwave. The plug is probably in a receptacle that is in the cabinet above the microwave, or in the wall above the shelf that is above the microwave.

2. Remove the two (or three) screws that go straight down through the bottom of the cabinet, or the shelf, into the top of the microwave. Have help in holding the microwave when you do this, as the front of the microwave will be able to fall down when the screws are removed.

3. Allow the front of the microwave to rotate down a little, then lift the back of the unit up about 1/2" to 1". At this point, the microwave will be disconnected from the mounting plate on the wall, so you can move it forward and carry it away.

Did you check power supply?

Question Edited for clarity. Question moved from Watches to GE Microwave Ovens. Underneath the knob there is an electrical contact. It needs spraying with Electrical Contact/Switch Cleaner. You may have to buy a new control panel complete which may not be cost effective unless it is a fitted in unit.
