Accidentally Formatted SmartMedia card!

You're right. Formatting in-camera will only reset the two File Allocation Tables, which act as a pointer to where the data really resides. The data (pictures) should remain safe until they are overwritten (the File Allocation Tables will have been marked to show their positions as being overwriteable). There are lots of solutions, the most expensive, is to send the card to a data recovery place (I don't know from your profile, where you are, but Fuji UK has a very good data recovery department, for just such a problem). Another way, is to use data recovery software. These, on the whole, work very well, and vary in price from zero, to a few hundred bucks. I've found little difference in quality between them. However, the easiest and currently most popular, seems to be F-Recovery... http://www.filerecoverytools.com/products/fr_smartmedia/ It is no better than most of the freeware tools out there, it's just easier for a novice to follow.

My Fuji finepix s20 pro is hooked up to a printer

This question is too old; however, assuming someone with similar question can be informed of the same. Most cameras (brand/model) will require an associate software for use in tether mode. For Fuji, it would be Fuji Camera Remote application - Fuji-hyper Utility software, Canon EOS - the EOS Utility etc. Without the software, your camera becomes a SD card holder when it is connected to a computer. You can't do anything with it. (There are exceptions though - for instance, a Sony Cyber shot DSC W30/ W40 future a AV out jack that can project AV on the computer or TV)

Focus error finepix hs10

About the HS10 autofocus problem, I discovered the cause and solution. It is a problem of camera design, and is caused by three screws securing the CCD sensor. These screws are not properly secured and the vibration eventually dropping. In two cameras with the same defect, the screws were loose. These screws adjust the sensor position relative to the lens and the sensor is loose when out of position not allowing proper focus. The solution is to disassemble the camera and secure the screws. These screws can not be too tight they need to be adjusted to position the CCD sensor correctly. The camera is difficult to dismantle because several wires are soldered. Care must be taken to discharge the capacitor of the flash, this may cause an electric shock and burn the camera board. Those who want to try the repair, follow the link to the service manual. http://elektrotanya.com/fujifilm_finepix_hs10_hs11_sm.pdf/download.html Milton Maenishi

I have a FinePix S1 and the display screen is not working. All other modes are working but no display

Many occasions LCD on camera display never fails but back light fails unless physical damage to LCD screen. Hold a torch to display when camera is on you will see faint(black and white) image means LCD is ok but back light is failed, it's replaceable but needs little skill to replace. Or replace full Screen with backlight. This is easy. Just remove back cover, remove display by loosening flex lock, put back new display carefully lock it holding flex with one finger. Please do not touch display flex contacts.

Zoom error on fuji finepix A500 digital camera

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance. Also, please be so kind to let me know if you found this helpful.

Regards
Andrea

Wipe the contact area of the memory card with a soft dry cloth. Most issues involving memory cards can also be resolved by formatting the card. Detailed instructions can also be found in your camera's user manual. or visit this website to solve your problem.https://googlesupport.co/youtube-support/

Error message on the fuji finepix s1730 says

I have several cameras and had left my 1730 in an old house for a year. It had been in a bag with the lens cap on and no batteries, but the house left without heating over winter. When I put fully chaged batteries in it, I got a little motor noise but no lens movement. I thought this was the end of it but did #6 above, switching it on while banging the right (grip) side of the camera against my palm. After many times I saw that the lens was starting to move out and after about 10 more times it came out and started to operate. It then failed when I went to macro but it got better as I used it. Now it seems to be back to normal.
