Try another cable or download you pictures directly from the card, inserting it in the sd slot in your computer.

It is probably a PDF file - use your PDF reader

Suggest that you go tp my computer as the answer above has suggested and attempt to open drive(memory chip) in the camera and download. If not suggest removing the memory chip from the camera and try accessing via Walmart or other stores photo Kiosk. Suggest opening Fin-pix first before connecting camera. Through fine-pix search for camera as if it was an external drive. Hope this helps?

You may need to replace the batteries.

Unfortunately, six years appears to be about the limit for modern consumer cameras. To get it fixed would cost more than replacement.
