SOURCE: rainbow d4se assembly

Generic problem for all Vacuums
Rainbow d4se assembly
How to assemble correct movable fan gen., middle fan spacer, rexair d4 lower stage fan and so on? Which side goes first?

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
You can change the fans on the RexAir / Rainbow vacuum but sometimes that is only a temporary fix, the fans would be new but the rest of the motor may burn out sooner with the added load to the motor and sometimes it is more cost efficient to replace the motor than to repair it and have it break down or burn up the motor, as far as the spacing
You can refer to the nearest vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages or call the RexAir/Rainbow factory for a schematic of the breakdown of the motor, and you can also cal the factory or check the website and download the owners manual from the website.

My dyson cyclone assembly will not spin when it...
Posted by littleladysc on Jun 18, 2008
I have 2 dyson dc07. The cyclone assembly will not spin when dirt is picked up, but when I change them out the vacuum is fine, so I know it is the cyclone assembly. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum.

It sounds to me that you may have a clog but when you said you changed them out the vacuum is fine, so a couple of things, if the vacuum is still under a factory warranty of 1 or 2 years the cyclone assm still would be under a factory warranty. If it is over the 1 or 2 years then you would have to replace the cyclone assm but you may want to check with the Dyson Factory Tech Support / customer Service line as per the problem, and they can ship you the part from the factory or to check with your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area and they may have one in stock or they can order one for you. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

SOURCE: Assemble Swivel Assembly onto Kenmore Canister vac

Got this post off this web site...I just replaced my swivel and it worked:
http://www.managemyhome.com/mmh/answers/Answers.action#l4q110567
To install a new swivel assembly, you will need 2 small, flat tip screw drivers. Unplug the vacuum. Push the screw drivers in between the hose and the collar where you see the seams in the plastic collar on the end where the hose enters the collar. This will release tabs that hold the collar to the swivel. Pry and pull the collar back over the hose and then pull the small screwdrivers out of the collar. Slide the collar back along the hose. Unplug the wiring connections from the hose. Pull the hose wires up and out of the holder on the swivel assembly. Lift the tabs on the side of the hose and pull it off of the swivel. Push the new swivel onto the hose. Align the hose wires and secure them in the holder. Plug the wires from the swivel into the hose wires (blue to blue, white to white). Secure the swivel wires into the wire holder on the swivel assembly. Push the collar back up the hose and onto the swivel with the plastic seams aligned with the tabs on each side of the hose. Snap the collar securely into place.

SOURCE: Cannot reinstall valve pipe assembly on Dyson dc17 vacuum

Take off the cyclone canister and flip open the filter cover. (The U-shaped tube at the bottom of the vacuum is probably already off-if not, release the lock with a screwdriver and remove it.) Release the vacuum from the upright positon, so that the head is extended. Align the value pipe assembly so that the clear tabs line up while the small extension off the value pipe faces the front of the vacuum (ie, is near the filter area). Now you have to carefully twist the value pipe clockwise while lining us the small extension with the black groove inside the head piece by moving the head back into the upright positon at the same time. Replace the U-shaped tube.

SOURCE: hoover steam vac all terrain turbine gear assembly

Hello,

I'd be happy to walk you through this repair. Unfortunately this is a very common problem with the Hoover SteamVacs.

Here's what you'll need to complete this repair:
- Hoover Turbine Assembly For Model F5866-900 Part # 43191001 or 90001354
- Phillips Head Screwdriver
- Flat Head Screwdriver

Step 1. Remove both the clean solution, and the dirty solution tanks from the machine, and press the handle release pedal so that the handle is laying down flat:

f9817d2.jpg
Step 2. With a flat head screwdriver, pry off the rotating brush speed indicator knob:

55c72db.jpg
Step 3. Unscrew the silver screw that's at the very top of the see thru suction port where the dirty solution tank rests.

91c5d91.jpg
Step 4. Turn the SteamVac upside down so that the brushes are facing upwards. There are four clips that hold these brushes in place. You'll need to remove the brushes from the machine by squeezing the four tabs while pulling upwards at the same time. The picture actually only shows the two tabs on the right hand side being squeezed, but the tabs on the left hand side are in the exact same location:

903753e.jpg
Step 5. Once you've removed the brush block from the machine, there are 4 screws on the bottom that need to be removed. Keep the two silver screws on the very corner in place, you won't need to remove these. Remove the four screws that I've highlighted in red:

8f04e58.jpg
Step 6. Turn the machine back over right side up, so that the brushes are on the bottom. There are two clips that hold the top housing in place. Insert your flat head screwdriver in between the top and lower housing in the rear of the machine close to the rear wheels, and pry upwards to unclip these clips on both the left and right sides, then remove the top motor housing from the machine.

19c46e5.jpg
Step 7. You'll now have complete access to the turbine. Remove the two silver screws in the front of the unit that hold the turbine in place, as well as remove the front hose from the turbine:

9f8ce8d.jpg
Step 8. Once you have removed the two screws you'll be able to lift the turbine up. There's a second hose in the rear of the turbine that you'll also need to remove before you can remove the turbine completely. After you've removed the hose, take the turbine out of the machine. You'll notice to the immediate left of the turbine other hoses that connect to a black circular part. This is actually the pump that sprays the water on the floor. If you ever have the problem where the clean water solution will not spray, it's a good possibility that this part needs to be replaced.

Simply install the new turbine, reattached the hoses and two front screws. When you're putting the top motor housing back on the unit, make sure that the brush speed selector knob that's on the right side of the turbine fits through the **** in the top motor housing. Also before tighting the two screws that that hold the top housing in in front of the brushes, there's two clips. You'll need to snap the top motor housing behind these two clips. Simply push front of the motor housing until you hear it snap into place.

That's about it. If you have any trouble with this repair, please don't hesitate to use the Clarification request form here on Fixya. My brush bar keeps falling down. We replaced motor but now the brushes don't spin.

Hi! If you've replaced the turbine & gear assembly and the brushes are still not spinning, a replacement brush-block assembly may be needed. The brushes counter rotate and need each other to spin. If a single brush is falling out, the brush assembly is broken. If the whole brush assembly keeps falling out, the drive pin shaft may be damaged. To order a replacement brush-block follow the link below.

Where is the fuse located in the microwave? The model is a Whirlpool MH6700XV1 made in Sept 89. It is a wall unit over the oven microwave.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

There are acutally 2 fuses in this unit. The thermal fuse is item 3 and the regular fuse is item 7 of this link: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=238334

Both fuses are on the rear of the unit inside the back panel attached to the air guide (Item 5 above link)

Make sure the unit is powered off before changing any fuse. Most fuses fail due to a component failure. High Voltage Diode, Capacitor, Magnetron or an interlock switch. If you replace the fuse and hear a loud humming when you try to use it most likely the diode has failed. DO NOT do anything beyond the fuse without grounding the capacitor first. It will ruin your day if it is charged and you touch a wire terminal. Any testing is done at your own risk knowing the dangers of same.

Sharp r-530es microwave. when depressing door Pushbutton, the door will not open. (problem started itermittently but now will not open at all(unless I pull on the door to assist)

Hello there, the mechanism for opening microwaves is such that when the button is depressed it raises the hooks which hold the door back. In some microwaves the hooks also have another part which pushes the door out while some units have door hinges which have spring mechanisms which pushes out the door. Depending on what is obtainable on your unit the problem might differ. What you want to do is this, when the door is open press the button and see if the hooks which are supposed to hold the door in place move as expected but considering that the door opens when you pull the problem is more likely from the spring mechanism which is supposed to push the door out.
Try cleaning the hinges and the space in between the door and the control panel. Try this and let me know as any other process might require a replacement part.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

With microwave door shut oven continues to run

The door switch when closed seems to give a feedback to the processor which is triggering continuosly the circuit.
Please check on the board for insect secretion or dirt that seems to RUN the board when the door is shut.
Wash the board and replace, check the connectors to be tight and test.
if not there are errors in the board/ control panel which could be stuck with the start button in ON state. remove panel to confirm.

I have a Kenmore Elite Ultrawave Microwave Hood Combination and am getting an F9 fault code. I hear a rythmic intermittant buzzing, the unit shuts off and the F9 appears on the screen. I have pulled open...

F9 code can mean something different depending upon the particular model.....
1.) IF your Microwave uses "UltraWave technology"/"SmartWave technology"...Then either the Magnetron has failed or the Inverter board has failed OR maybe the control board has failed (HUH?).
2.) IF your Microwave does NOT use "UltraWave technology"/"SmartWave technology" then one or more of the door switches has failed.

** "UltraWave technology"/"SmartWave technology" **
I'll explain a few things about this wonderful technology...
The control board (accepts the pushbutton commands) has to talk to the inverter board to tell it how much power should be applied to the magnetron. The inverter board will then power the magnetron and inform the control board if the magnetron is working OK.
If there is something wrong with the magnetron or inverter board or a there is a communication breakdown between the control board and the inverter board...WA-LA-----F9----

A pretty reliable test for the Magnetron is to operate the oven and listen for a ticking sound 5-6 times about a second apart. If you can hear the ticking....The magnetron has failed..if no ticking, the control or inverter board failed.

Sharp microwave carousel R330J 1100 watt. When the heating cycle is started the microwave light flickers on and off and there is a clicking sound. Initially high voltage fuse blown. replaced fuse and...

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly.

1st the model number appears to be incomplete. Not an issue at this point but will be if you need parts.

You most likely have an interlock problem with one of the 2 door switches or the door interlock mechanism is broken.
There are 3 safety interlock micro switches activated by the door. One for the light, one for the Magnetron and one for the control panel power. If the problem persists with the Magnetron disconnected. The Magnetron safety interlock micro switch is supposed to blow the fuse if the unit is energized with the door open. Check continuity of your door interlocks. Pat particular attention to the NC (normally closed), C (Common) and NO (Normally Open) contacts.
NC should read to C and when the switch is activated read open at which time the NO contact will read to C.

I really suspect a bad microswitch.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Hi,
  1. Push the power cord all the way into the outlet in case it became loose and is causing the problem. If the microwave still isn't working, check for a blown circuit fuse, and repair it.
  2. Step 2 Check that the controls on the microwave are programmed correctly according to the owner's manual. If they aren't, program them.
  3. Step 3 Close the microwave door firmly. Touch the cook function on the Start Pad, not the timer. Check if the microwave works. If not, continue to step 4.
  4. Step 4 Program the Power Level correctly. If it's not programmed properly, the microwave will cook the food too quickly or too slowly.
  5. Step 5 Use only microwave safe dishes. Make sure food is evenly shaped and defrosted before placing it in the Amana Radarange microwave.
Thanks.
