On the start screen the date comes up in Turkish. eg " 20 Haziran 2011 Pazartesi" and on the Calendar screen "20 Haz 11 PPSCPCC". Otherwise everything is in English and I don't know how I caused it to change. I would appreciate any help you couuld give me to get everything back into English.

View My Garage 03 530i brakes locked up help please
03 bmw 530i, was driving it yesterday and the car started to viberate bad, then the car started to slow, it seems the brakes all locked up, and the car slow and then would not move. i could hit the gas and the car would not move at all. let it sit for a few hours went back to it and it drove about a mile and then the same thing happened again. a roll back came and got it, and when they winched it up on all 4 wheels were locked up. when we got to my place i was able to back it off and pull in spot but then locked up again. Any ideas of where to start looking, and what could be the problem? thanks for your help. This car has been nothing but problems, are these cars usually problematic? thanks

View My Garage Can you describe the lock up in detail? It is hard to believe the brakes are locking up, they are a simple mechanism.

I also have a 2003 530i and I did the brakes yesterday in fact. Are you sure it is not an engine problem?

View My Garage when the brakes start to lock, and i stop, i can press the gas and the rear tires will spin a little but it wont move. Also when the pulled it onto the roll back, it was in neutral and all 4 tires where locked up and dragged all the way up. but after it sat for 30 mins (i guess they cooled down) and it would move just a little more. hope this helps.

Jack each wheel up (don't remove tire), spin the tire, does it spin.

Otherwise what you described above may be a failing transmission.

View My Garage i dont think its the transmission as the front wheels are locked up and the car is rear wheel drive, so that would take the transmission out of it. i know for a fact the front wheels are locked up.

View My Garage If it is truely locked wheels, the only thing I can think of is the caliper seals seized.
But usually this happens one caliper at a time, not all 4.

If I still needed information, I'd have a light person sit in the vehicle to gently press on the brakes as I spun the wheels

What happened when you did that?

One test of the ABS that 'might' work is simply to disconnect the ABS control module harness to see if that changes anything.

Why do date and time keep setting to default?

Are you sure you replaced the CMOS battery with a fresh one? Did you install it backwards (the plus side should be UP). I've only seen a bad CMOS battery cause that problem. I would try one you know is new and check the installation.

Good luck.

ACER ASPIRE X3910 EVENT ID 41 KERNEL POWER CRITICAL

If it just stopped and restarted proper is nothing to worry cause it seam just like a memory dumping error or so ..If it asks to choose a boot on start ..just start normally or choose to start with the last known configuration that worked.
If it do not want to start it may be a case of corrupted boot file ..and need to repair the boot configuration using a operation system disk or the recovery partition ..My advice is to reinstall a clean copy if it makes troubles again ..It may have something in the system that cause it ..and reinstalling will remove the settings and programs ..and when you install them again try them one by one ..and you will know which one is not supported..

How does its year calendar work?

The day at a glance calendar system used in this Orient watch, has been used in a number of watches over the past 40 years, perhaps most famously in the Wittnauer "2000" watch (which Orient actually made for Wittnauer under contract). Orient itself has used this system in a number of different styles of watches. Note that the daily date window is separate from the day of the week / month at a glance system; the date window is driven in traditional fashion by the movement.

The day/month at a glance system is based on a single disc inside the watch that is manually advanced by the user. If you look at the top of the watch, where the months are listed, you'll see little two-digit numbers. These represent different years--"04" refers to 2004, "11" to 2011, etc. To get the right days of the week at the bottom of the dial, you move the appropriate year under the current month. That will line up the days of the week--Monday, Tuesday, etc.--with their correct dates. You may see the same year repeated more than once on the upper part of the dial because the calendar has a specific pattern that can be replicated.

On older watches using this same system, the top pusher was used to adjust the date window, and a separate winding knob controlled movement of the year/monthly calendar disc. On this specific watch, which I have not handled in person, I cannot see a separate crown to adjust the date, and so I am guessing that you would pull out the set stem part-way to engage the disk setting mode. This would make sense because unlike the date window, where the date is always advanced, the year must move both backwards and forwards to align with all the months in a given year--you'll see that January and October are in the same place on the dial, for example.

If you're interested, here's an example of a vintage Orient that uses this same system for its calendar. Note how the monthly calendar and year/month alignment are flipped from the watch you asked about. Please note that I have no connection with this web site, make no endorsement as to the price being asked for this watch--but it has a nice picture of a classic Orient:

http://forums.watchuseek.com/f30/$128-all-steel-orient-perpetual-calendar-xl-case-vintage-watch-526811.html

On a final note, you'll see a number of people refer to these as "perpetual calendar" watches. That's not accurate. The year / days of the week disc holds about 20 years of calendar information. After that, the disc is no longer accurate, though you can easily keep aligning the monthly calendar just be referring to a printed calendar and adjusting it that way. For a period of time (not sure if they still do it), Orient would accept older watches with this system and change out the old year/day wheel with a new one that went further into the future.

The year on the "clock

Yes, 2005 and 2011 are identical, the VCR will never know the difference. For future years 2012 and beyond just make sure the year you pick is not a leap year and that the day starts on the same day of the week for both years. The calendars need to have the same days and there are many years like this. Also check to be sure your VCR programming is good before doing a timer recording. You would not want to lose a show due to bad setup. See this link to 2005 and 2011 calendars.:

I have Calandar Creator 10 and have created a family calandar which I use from year to year that includes birthday events, holidays etc. and phases of the moon. This year, when I went from Dec. 2010 to...

Calendar Creator 10 has the four moon phases from Jan 1990 thru Dec 2010. To extend past 2010:
- File Open Collection ' Local Disk(c:)'Program Files'Calendar Creator' Template'Events'Phases of the Moon.bcc
-For each of the four events (First Quarter, Full Moon, Last Quarter, and New Moon) change the Repeat Until date past 12/31/2010 to 12/31 of the year you will add data for
-For each of the four events, click Advanced Repeat Rule you can selete the drop down under Exceptions / Pick exception and there you can see the dates by month and year from Jan 1990 thru Dec 2010 for the event. You need to extend this list. First obtain the moon phases from some web site like www.timeanddate.com/calendar. (note that this site calculates the mone phases base on New York time). The simply select each of the dates for the event you are modifying by clicking that date on the calendar in the upper right hand of the screen. Just advance the calendar thru the months and years you want to enter data for. You can check the list when finished by selection the ExceptionS Pick exception drop down box.
- Save your changes by clicking OK and Ok again. Make changes for all for events.
- Select File and Save Collection
- You need to replace the Phases of the moon events in your calendar by removing the old events and importing the new events. To remove the old Phases of the moon in your calendar, select Events'Categories highlight Phases of the moon and delete. Then add back the changed events by File'Import Events and browse for the Phases of the moon.bcc file you changed.
I hope this gets you what you need.

I cannot set the calendar for this watch...can anyone help me?

mcdevito75 here, Your watch (Timex) may have a 2 position stem. Push the stem (winder) all the way in, NOW just lift the stem a little to it:s first position, this should allow the date, (number ) to change, change that number to the date before the date you want, NOW pull the stem out to set the hands, rotate the hands to set proper date and time.
