I found a similar error on a Vista 32-bit OS when I tried to print using notepad. There's no dot before dll.

PSW_Resdll.

I wouldn't suggest simply deleting the printer from the Control Panel's "Printers and Faxes" folder since that will still leave the printer drivers behind.

Try this instead:

1. Make sure you have the installer CD of the printer, and if not try to download it from the manufacturer's website. Make sure you choose appropriately if you're using Vista or it can cause problems. If you don't do this, Windows won't always download the proper driver for you.

2. Go to Start > Programs (or All Programs) > (Printer Brand) > Uninstall to make sure it's uninstalled, and also check it from the Add/Remove Programs (or Program Features).

3. Restart PC.

4. Use the installer CD, or downloaded installer, to reinstall printer.

5. Test printing from different programs.

If after all of these are done and you still have the same problem (unlikely, but hey, anything can happen), you need to call either the printer or computer technician. Most likely the first.

I tried this process and it printer worked fine.

Not that it is a help for your problem but the file name should be PSW_RE.DLL - a dot belongs before the '.DLL'

If you haven't tried it yet, delete the printer from the 'Printers and Faxes' folder in the Control Panel, make sure the printer is connected and turned on, then reboot the computer.

This will force Windows to reinstall drivers for it and should return functions.

I have a solution for this.
just follow these steps:
1.Check if the firewall is blocking any printer services 2.Check what port the printer is using (reenable the bi-directional support) and if it's on online mode 3.Disable all the firewalls 4.Uninstall the printer driver and software 5.Delete any items under the ff keys: HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-2 HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-3 HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet001\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-2 HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet001\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-3 Optional*** 6.Delete any non default items under the ff keys: Note: ONLY THE NON DEFAULT ITEMS SHOULD BE DELETED HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet001\Control\Print\Monitors Default items are as follows: AppleTalk Printing Devices BJ Language Monitor Local Port PJL Language Monitor Standard TCP/IP Port USB Monitor Windows NT FAx Monitor ***** 7.Delete any items under the ff keys: HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet001\Control\Print\Printers 8.Completely remove drivers by doing the ff: (Option for comm failure because of the upgrade from xp to vista) Ensure there are no documents in queue. Disconnect printer’s USB cable. Click the Start pearl, then click All programs, Printers, Dell xxx (where “xxx” is the printer model number) and then Uninstall. Complete the uninstall utility. From the start search box type spool and press . The spool folder located at c:\windows\system32\spool opens. Rename c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\w32X86 to c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\backup. Rename c:\windows\system32\spool\prtprocs\W32X86 to c:\windows\system32\spool\prtprocs\backup. 9.Restart the computer. 10.Check th services status Start-Run- Type Services.msc and Click on Open You will see long list of services You need to make sure following 4 Services are set to Automatically start Remote Procedure Call RPC Remote Procedure Call RPC Locater LexBce Server Print Spooler 11.Reinstall the latest printer driver

Cannot print from command prompt - Epson U220D Windows 7 32-bit New parallel port with driver New centronix to parallel cable Epson driver APD_455dE (I was using Windows 7 64 bit with a...

The Epson works fairly well with XP. It is to be connected to
a parallel port, usually LPT1
using an IEEE certified parallel printer cable. The computer BIOS
setting is best set for standard parallel port, SPP, bi-directional port
or similar. If possible, do not set it to ECP or EPP or ECP & EPP.

The only native driver for the printer is on the Windows CP CD. Install
using the Add Printer wizard.

The Epson LQ-860 drivers, and a few others, can be used. Using these
drivers, you will discover that the printer actually has some resident
fonts (in printer ROM) that are not accessible from the Stylus
driver. However, with this driver, graphics printing quality is
compromised.

Windows 9x drivers _cannot be used_.

Let us know.

My Printer is not printing although the printer status is online. How do I fix it?

If you tell it to print and the item goes into your Que for printing. In that screen click on the printer tab... In the drop down verify that the "Use Printer OffLine" does NOT have a check mark next to it.

Printer will not print anything except test page and wont delete

Possibly, the print spooler needs to be restarted. In Windows, one of the ways to do this is in the Command Prompt window. (Start > Accessories > Command Prompt, right click on the command and choose Run as Administrator in Vista or Win7).
Type "net stop spooler" <enter> without the quotes. At the next prompt, type "net start spooler" <enter> again without the quotes. After the last command finishes, restart the computer. Check that the queue is empty and retry printing.

I hope this helps.
