Hi i just bought gemini pdt - 6000 they are awsome but its smal problem the pitch adjustment is not precise as it should be for example i I move pitch from point 0 to point 0.5 the pitch not moving if I go more to point 1.0 then is catching up and is to much over the speed whitch I want to have. If the turntable's cartridge/needle are "magnetic", you need an amplifier with a "PHONO" input. Most new amplifiers do NOT have one, as that stopped when CDs began replacing LPs decades ago. Since the reemergence of LPs, some expensive amps have added a PHONO input again. Only really cheap turntables have CERAMIC cartridge/needles (usually under $100), which work fine with any amplifier input but are of a much lower quality than magnetic. Places like Radio Shack and The Source sell inexpensive Pre-amplifiers for this task of increasing the sound level and correcting the frequency response to RIAA standards. The latest turntable I bought had a Preamplifier built in plus a USB connection for converting LPs to Digital.

You MAY have contamination in the slider.You could try putting a little CRC226 into the slot and work the control. Use ONLY this product CRC226 available at Home Depot in the electrical dept/

The switch that the button actuates is probably broken. The unit will need to be serviced.

a new turntable is needed

I don't know if this model is direct driven or by belt. If it's belt driven then the belt could be fitted incorrectly, or faulty. Another possibilty is that there's a fault in the motor control circuit.

I have just posted a cure for this deck, it is to do with the microswitches under the speed select buttons - they need to be replaced. Just repaired mine today - now there are no more problems selecting speeds.
If the speed goes back to 33 when the deck is switched off, this is because 33 is the default.

on top of the pitch control there is a small hole, in this hole you can use a small screw driver  and turn it left and right to free any dirt inside this is the master pitch control

I don't think the problem is the actual stylus (needle), it sounds like the magnetic cartridge has become faulty in some way (it does happen). My advice is try another cartridge and stylus (borrow if you can). If the audio stays the same then it MAY be the wiring in the arm going through the plinth (deck) and these wires terminate to pins or a small pcb board in the turntable where the phono cables and arm wires are connected. There may be a bad connection inside.
Also, make sure your tonearm counterweight and anti-skate are set up properly as well as this can have an effect on audio.
