Cartridges require no special pre-amp. If your amp has one built in the sound from the deck will come out at the same level as other functions. If the amp has no inbuilt pre-amp you will still hear sound (if the cartridge is working) only the volume will be too low to listen to. All you need do is connect the record player to the amp and see if you can hear the sound. If you can't then you need a magnetic cartridge pre-amp. By the way if you need a new cartridge you don't have to stick with a Gemini make. You can use any one you want as long as it will fit into the headshell. There some better makes of cartridge out there, that will give better sound quality. It all depends on what you want to spend on a cartridge!

Look at the cartridge it fits into and put the make model number into google. That should find the stylus.

I don't understand what you mean. Are the electronics parts missing does it have a power supply or is it just the cartridge that's not there?

Hi,The RCA plugs on your turntable audio out cables go to the "Phono" sockets at the rear of your amplifier.I have attached a photograph of the rear panel for reference.I hope this helps.

Hi, sounds to me like you have got it connected to your amp via an aux or cd input. Turntables need to be connected via phono input. If no phono input is available you need to run it through a mixer or preamp first then into your amp. I recommend you get a good quality preamp with RIAA EQ curve included. I have designed and built our own Styluscity branded preamp. There are cheaper options on the market however when it comes to audio products quality is very much relevant to cost. Cheers john. Two causes the stylus is worn, or there is not enough pressure being applied to the stylus. Most cartridges track at 2-3 grams. The weight at the end of the arm should be set around this figure and slowly moved higher till it tracks without sliding and without creating too much rumble in the sound. If you have to take the weight up high, then that's a good sign the stylus has gone. Or that the arm itself has a fault on it somewhere (when tried with a new stylus installed).

i'm too missing the tonearm counterweight for my Gemini TT01. if you haven't figuered out where to buy one, do you know at least what is the weight that is needed to counter the weight of the tonearm or how to measure the tonearm so as to make a counterweight of my own???

measuring that voltage wont tell you a lot of information. You need to see signals in an audio circuit and those transistors could be MOSFET and or they cannot be tested while in circuit.
