Your output I.C. might be faulty. Output I.C. is the one converting the audio from cd's,tuner, auxiliary to sound which passes to your speakers.
Since your Output I.C. is defective then the unit will not generate any sound even your inputs(cd,tuner, auxiliary) is working.

It is quite technical so I've advice you to look for a qualified technician to isolate the problem and do resoldering also for some dry joints on the main board.Dry joints also will might caused for damaged a parts.

Thanks for using fixya.

I have no sound :(

If the (internal) radio doesn't produce sound it's not signal cables. What cables were you exchanging?

This sounds like a basic NO SOUND problem.

How does it fare when you run speaker setup?

How about the MUTE button?????

Ipod docks to philips sound bar, but produces no sound...

Check the iPod dock connector for dust or pocket-lint. Use compressed air to blow it out if there's debris in there.

Then check the sound bar's connector to make sure the universal dock connector is clean and doesn't have any damage to the connector.

My mom just bought this philips sound system and the subwoofer is not producing any sound. The other speakers work just fine but the sub woofer does not work. I was wondering if their was any call backs or...

Press the surround button on the Philips remote to see if the subwoofer will begin producing noise - the surround button switches the mode from simple stereo to full surround. I would test the surround button while watching a DVD, because not every tv channel is going to even produce surround effects. Good luck!

Sound echo

I found that the best way to avoid this problem is to mute the television speakers or, if you can, turn off the speakers. There seems to be a very brief delay between TV and theater speakers, causing what sounds like an echo. hope this helps.

No CD sound on Philips DVD/VCR player

I havent seen this model But in the past I have heard this problem arise. It turned out that there was a mute button for the cd only on the remote and there was no indicator to show it. check for a cd mute or go into the cd play menu and check around in there.
