AM radio tuner set as MW tuner. How to switch to U.S.A. AM mode?
AM is just another name for MW. The Radio should tune to a strong signal regardless of the frequency the radio is set to. It should also sweep the entire frequency looking for stations. I'm assuming it has a channel scan setting, plus options to set a number for the station. AM/MW are very much dependent on the position of the either internal or external Ariel. If you have the radio in the wrong position or you have some electrical equipment nearby it could block the signal for the station you want, but not affect the others. Which might explain why it can't find the station you want.

My Philips DCM230 home stereo
Your output I.C. might be faulty. Output I.C. is the one converting the audio from cd's,tuner, auxiliary to sound which passes to your speakers.
Since your Output I.C. is defective then the unit will not generate any sound even your inputs(cd,tuner, auxiliary) is working.
It is quite technical so I've advice you to look for a qualified technician to isolate the problem and do resoldering also for some dry joints on the main board.Dry joints also will might caused for damaged a parts.
Thanks for using fixya.

Cd stuck in philips dcm 230
I had the same issue today and came up with a solution...maybe not the best, but it worked. I unplugged the unit and then holding it by the sides (which I was sitting down) struck (not too hard) the unit onto my knees. Be sure you are holding the unit with the CD opening facing the floor. You may have to do this a few times, but the CD should start to come out, after which you should be able to grab hold of the disc and pull it gently out. Once I did this, I inserted another CD and everything worked fine. Being the daring type (obviously), I tried the original CD again, and like the first time it got stuck again and I had to repeat the same process. I came to the conclusion that for whatever reason, the CD was bad and tossed it out. Any other CD I put in the unit works just fine. Bottom line, it may be crude, but it works!

I have a Philips Kitchen
The skipping problem you are experiencing may be related to the shaft that the laser assy rides on. It may need a little greasing with silicon grease, just a litte bit. Or it could be the spindle motor is wobbling as it turns. If you are a little tech savy, then you can order a new CD drive assy through Ebay and swap it out when it arrives. If you get this far you need to know how to remove the solder short on the new assy otherwise the new drive will not work.
Does aj300d/05 have a fuse
The Philips iPod dock model "AJ300D/05" is not responding when plugged in. To troubleshoot:
- Check the power source and ensure proper connection.
- If applicable, look for any blown fuses as a potential issue.
- Verify the dock connector for a secure connection with the device.
- Confirm device compatibility and consider using adapters if needed.
- Check the remote control and its batteries.
- Look for a reset function if available.
- Update any associated software.
- Inspect for physical damage.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, reach out to Philips customer support or a professional technician for further assistance or potential repair.
Why doesn't my Philips CDR820 copy a disc when I press "copy cd" then the "yes" button?
If your Philips CDR820 is not copying a disc when you press the "copy cd" button and then the "yes" button, there could be several reasons why this is happening. Here are some possible solutions you can try:
- Check the disc: Make sure the disc you are trying to copy is not scratched, dirty, or damaged. If it is, try using a different disc.
- Check the blank disc: Make sure the blank disc you are using is compatible with your Philips CDR820. Check the user manual for compatible disc formats.
- Clean the laser lens: If the laser lens is dirty, it may not be able to read the disc properly. Use a cleaning disc to clean the lens.
- Update the firmware: Check if there is an available firmware update for your Philips CDR820. If there is, download and install it to see if it fixes the issue.
- Reset the device: Try resetting the device by unplugging it from the power source for a few minutes, then plugging it back in and trying to copy a disc again.
If none of these solutions work, it may be a hardware issue that requires professional repair. In that case, you may need to contact Philips customer support or a qualified technician for assistance.
