Same problem here .. Anyone found a solution yet ?

My HTS8100 2 yrs ago stopped working properly, sound was on its max and little was heard. Well after searching for solutions and took it for repair which was a waste, my brother came from Australia for a holiday who is a technician and fixed it for me. The problem is in the subwoofer, I am uploading a photo where this part is , STRX6759 SANKEN INTEGRATED CIRCUIT STRX6759. Its behind that capasitor. When I changed it the sound worked. Hope you will find it useful.

My soundbar won't power up. So I pull the battery out of remote, press a few buttons, put the battery back in and all of a sudden the device can be powered up and controlled. Until next time it stops responding. I replaced that original battery with a new one but the problem still persists.

You just remove batteries , unplug all cables, then put everything back together. This will reset the unit to factory settings.

I did not get a remote with my philips sound bar can you tell me how I can turn it on

Did you try another disc? Try other discs - preferably store bought. If it will not recognize store bought discs then you have a defective unit. Is the "unknown" disc home made? could be that the homemade disc has not been created properly or is a type of disc that the unit cannot read.
