Downloading HP 4255 scanner driver

I had bought an HP 4255 All-in-one a few years ago, when I had an XP system. I have now changed to a Vistas Home Premium loaded Dell m/c. When I tried setting up the Scanner software, it gets into install mode and then stops as the OS is not supported

Can I download the HP 4255 scanner driver for a Visat Home premium OS?

    Also got Vista and trying to get my machine to work with my 4255 HP is a mission or impossible- what does one have to do?

Go to paint, click on file, select from scanner/camera. it works without a driver plz try it!!!

Your device will run under XP but no more under Vista or Windows XP . HP doesn't support this unit anymore .
Installing a Virtual version of XP on your system or genuine version on a secundary are the only options .

Changing from Vistas to XP Pro
do you have the modem driver installed? on a lot of laptops ive worked with the modem and audio are like put together or something. you usually have to have the modem drivers installed before you can get the audio to work. try going to http://www.conexant.com/support/md_driverdownload.jsp
click on modem driver assistance and then click agree at the bottom and see if any of that stuff helps

Go there and try download the Drivers and Utility for the 64-bit Version of Vista. Pretty bad that HP's own website has the info you need, yet they say it won't work.
