This is the solution, I would only add that it's on the top of the camera itself. Not in the digital menu or backlight button. On my older version, it's between the cassette and lens sections of the camera.
Never having used the nightshot before, my sister left me with the same quandary...

Yeah, its the slider right on the topnext to the silvered part. Says nightshot plus next to it.

Just go to page 44 and it will show you which button to push.

Accidently turned on nightshot, can't turn it off

  1. Open this link to the user manual.
  2. http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/2661364112.pdf
  3. Go to page 42 of the manual. The picture shows switch #1, which is on the top of the camera. Move this to OFF. This will remove the Nightshot.

If you shot the videos in dark with night shot on. There is no way to convert them to look like day. But if you use a editing program like Sony Vegas you would be able to tweek the video to look simi normal.

Nightshot Plus

If you really feel up to it the thing has screws, start opening them and take of the plastic cover. But think 4 times before messing with a 400 $ camera, maybe you'd rather take it to a lab, shouldn't be too expensive. There's many things that can go wrong if you do it yourself Good luck
