It sounds like a wireless device on your network is cheap king for updates every 30 minutes. When your wireless light flashes, it means a wireless device is talking to your router. When your internet light flashes, it means your router is talking to the internet. It is normal for both to flash at the same time. If a wireless device is downloading an update, then the speed will slow down for other devices. I hope this helps.

Connection dropping

If the lights are flashing - that's OK. Wireless light will flash because the connections and beacon transmission, port lights will flash because of local connections. We can troubleshoot this for a while but I think this might be a problem with the box. Probably the best option is to replace it. In case you would like to play, try to run Ethereal and capture the packets and analyse them.

Netgear

Hi,
There are two things involved in getting disconnected either your comp is getting disconnected or your router.
Instance 1
Computer getting disconnected connect your comp and router with ethernet cable if using wireless. Because at times it's not router but the wireless connectivity that gets loost.
Instance 2
Router getting disconnected...
Reset your router by holding the reset pin at the back of your router for 15 secs and lights will start flashing on router wait for 1 min you'll have router reset to default settings and now check that dsl or internet light on your router is flashing or static if flashing contact your isp issue with the line if static run the disc for router installation again and it'll remain connected after successful installation.
