Link provided below will help you in each and every aspect with your printer. In case your don't find the assistant program then you will be required to install it from the CD which came alongwith your printer.

I forgot to mention that there is no button available for recalibration you will have to do it through your pc program. Just go to start button click on printers and folders open the properties of that printer and go to services. There you will find the option for recalibrating from there your can do it.

My deskjet 5550 printer stopped printing in color it only print black ink i have replaced the color cartridge still only prints in blank only; i have tried calibrate printer and clean cartridge options;...

If the Cartridge and printer alignment is successfull and you are still not able to print in color, mostly the Color print is disabled in your pc

Click on START Button
Click on CONTROL PANEL
Open Printers and Faxes folder
Highlight the Printer icon for Deskjet
Right click on the printer icon and choose Printing Preferences
Under Printing preferences, you will find Printing mode - It must be on BLACK or GREY SCALE, Change to COLOR/ ALL
try printing.

My 3820 will not move the ink cartriges to center for changing

If you power off the printer and raise the cover you should be able to GENTLY move the print head towards the centre but if it's not moving there is probably something else wrong if it's not responding to the button push or software request.

Hp deskjet 3820 - have refilled the cartridge and pc wont print

Clean the contacts on the carriage with piece of cotton and then clean the contacts on the cartridge with rubber and try again. If this not help replace the cartridge.

Print cartridge

This may sound simple, but did you remember to remove the tape covering from the ink cartridge before installing it? If so, run a self-test and let me know the results:

1. Turn the printer ON.
2. Press and hold the POWER button.
3. Press the RESUME button FOUR times.
4. Release the POWER button.

You should get a nicely printed self-test. If it fails, there may be other troubleshooting methods we can employ.
I hope this helps!
