After refilling my black cartridge, my lexmark X7170 AIO (on printer copy setting) prints out a blank page even after printing an alignment page showing black bars & blue dashes (no other colors?) I changed

Thanks. It turns out that I probably refilled the cartridge too many times!, c'ause it started printing again when I replaced it with a new one. I still wonder what caused the old cartridge to fail?

Try to print some more pages. The ink will take time to go down as it is not free flowing. This is due to the air beetween the new ink and the old ink, after some printing the air is push out and then you can have a clear print.

Printer spits out blank copies. Says there is an alignment problem but I cannot find how to fix it. PLEASE HELP!

Try to re-seat the cartridges in the printer. Open the printer cover > remove the cartridges > close the printer cover > re-brick you printer by pulling out the power supply - black box behind the printer where the power cord is plugged in, and re-plug after 10 seconds. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and close the cover. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

If that doesn't help, please follow the steps below to align the cartridges:

  1. On your computer, go to Start menu.
  2. Go to Programs.
  3. Go to Lexmark 7100 Series folder.
  4. Select Lexmark Solution Center.

From the Maintenance tab, select Align to fix blurry edges. Your printer will then print a page and help align the cartridges.

Lexmark x4850. swapped oem with non-oem black cartridge. will not print black now. message says warranty does not support non-lexmark and prints blank pages.

“Lexmark does not support the refilling of its ink cartridges. Refilling the ink cartridges can cause them to leak, thus clogging or even damaging the print head. Any damage to your printer caused by refilled ink cartridges may not be covered under warranty”. Please use genuine Lexmark cartridges for best results.

Its very good at printing blank pages, tried all the fixes I found. Nothing!

It sounds like you've gone through all the normal processes to correct the problem. This indicates a problem with the refilled cartridges. The refill ink may not be up to HP specs and be clogging the nozzles. The next step is to put in OEM cartridges (not refills) and go through the cleaning and alignment process. This should clear the problem.
Let me know if this clears the problem otherwise we can try something else.
Thanks.

I just refilled black ink of my new printer Lexmark x5495. Does not recognise the black cartilage and keeps on asking for alignment. When it prints alignment page it does not use the refilled black ink....

I have a X7170 it has recently began printing with vertical blank areas on the printed copy. In other words up and down on the page there missing copy. I have changed ink cartridges and this does not help....

Uneven vertical lines can be adjusted by
performing the printhead alignment adjustments.
The user is directed through the Lexmark Solution
Center to perform the printhead alignment
adjustments when replacing a printhead cartridge.
The alignment can also be performed from the
control panel by selecting the Maintenance Option,
then Align Cartridges.
