49 errors are usually related to the jet direct network card which may need to be replaced. But if only happens from one user or when printing one particular document or from one particular program then you may have a driver or software conflict.
Printer error code "49.4c02" is one of them. It occurs when there is corrupted data. This may confuse the printer, and it stops functioning. In other cases, the data is corrupted while being transferred to the printer. Some printer models are naturally prone to this error because of their driver, while others can display this error while printing a specific font.

49.4c02 = "bad postscript headers"
Except they're usually not.
The Postscript standard allows up to 4096 characters. HP printers **** if the headers exceed 1024 characters.
This is common across _all_ HP printers and I notified HP about it in 2003. It's never been fixed and likely never will be.
The best solution is "don't buy HP printers for postscript".
The next best solution is to run your jobs through a CUPS ps2ps filter which will trim down the headers.

Well I was having the same problem. I cleaned out the queue by canceling the job that it was having the problem with. Turns out the data being sent to the printer was corrupt in this case.
