Pride GoGo mobility scooter cuts off.

Get a can of Electrical Contact Cleaner spray and separate any electrical connectors that you can see, and re-make the connection. You have a bad connection somewhere that is losing contact with a bump. The most likely places are any from the battery, or any to the controller. Make sure the two connector halves are fully locked in place. Some have fuses, some have breakers, check the connections there as well.

You say it has only done 8 miles. If you bought it new, it is under dealer and maker warranty.

I was hoping to find you a manual, but 'GoGo' is a range of models.

Shutting off on bumps is a known issue caused by the battery box bumping.

Why does it go-stop-go-stop?

The Controller maybe over heating. another thing that could cause this is loose connection to the battery. Throttle may have broken wire and when you hit a bump looses connection. If you let the scooter sit for 10-15 min. before trying again that could have worked better for you.

Cuts out after going over a bump

Hi , 1. It could be a faulty reset switch, 2. controller issues where it drawing to much current , check wiring to the motor and check the brushes , high carbon build up ?? check the wiring from the batteries to the controller looking for loose connections and wiring discoloration .
The best bet would be a faulty reset switch..

My hs-125 scooter stops when it hits a slight bump

There are only two reasons why your scooter would stop when you hit a slight bump...(1) loss of spark and or (2) loss of fuel
More info needed...does it start back up or do you have to crank a lot?
or do you mean "it stops like the brake is on?

I have a sterling diplomat 306 id,

Hello,
Look at the right hand back corner of the bootlid recess, there is a very small steel spike sticking up which is a switch. Sometimes if the scooter goes over a sharf bump, the lid jumps slightly and the switch lifts momentary and puts the brake on. It thinks the lid has been lifted and goes into charging mode.
Switching the power on and off resets the system until the next sharp bump.
The switch is ajustable, or the bootlid needs to be pushed down harder before locking it.
I had this happen on my Diplomat 408i.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Paul

Scooter needs to be run forward before it will reverse, also it will stopat times after going over a bump

Sounds like you have a bad motor brush or motor.
I would block up the scooter, remove the seat and rear shroud and inspect the motor while it is running up on blocks. Use a rubber band or tape to hold the throttle lever. Listen for unusual sounds like a whine or growl from the motor, brake or trans-axle. Inspect and wiggle all the wiring, checking for loose connections at the batteries, controller, and front to rear wiring harnesses. See if you can duplicate the problem using a rubber mallet to simulate a bump.
Use a digital voltmeter to check the motor. The brake should read between 40 and 60 ohms and the motor coil resistance should be less than 1.2 ohms. You should pull the caps on the motor brushes and inspect for wear, burning , and melted leads. I have seen the motor brush hang up on the armature in one direction and not the other. You might try rotating the brush 180 degrees on installation to see if this is the case. Large carbon build up inside the motor from brush wear can also cause this. Blow out the brush dust with compressed air when you have the brushes out. There could be another problem related to what you describe and is associated with the throttle potentiometer. If there are dead spots on the potentiometer you could experience the same forward and reverse problem.
The first solution involves replacing a motor/brake, the second involves replacing the throttle potentiometer. Both repairs are straightforward and within the expertise of a good do-it-yourself-er. The parts should be available on-line at a discount. You will save considerable by doing your own labor. Hope this helps.

My wife inherited a shoprider scooter, but I am not exactly sure how to remove the battery as there was no manual with the scooter. I am not even sure what model it is because the decals are worn...

w beck you have to remove the seat by pulling it out of of the seat post and then remove the shroud or cover by pulling it straight up You will then be able to see the batteries. Your scooter equires two 12 volt batteries probably U1 batteries Hope this helps

Celebrity XL4, when going up hill, power cuts out. turn key off and back on, scooter will go again for a couple of feet.

Sounds like Overload Cutout ??? Use a Higher Rating Cutout, as going up hill is very hard on Scooters and it also depends on your weight.
