An electrical earth leakage will cause the trip. possibly the the heating element. but the motor or wiring fault can do it. you could try disconnecting the heater if the electric stays on. then change the element.

Further to my last solution. if the belt has snapped it sometimes pulls the wires off the capacitor mounted near the motor the loose wires can touch the drum causing the electric to trip. if this has happened check the front and rear seal of the drum as disintegration of either can jam the drum causing the belt to snap. I have just repaired one with this problem.

Washing machine wont work

If it's more than 6 years old, it's time for a new one. Or maybe you blew out your fuses. Try resetting the fuse box and switch off and on. Then after you switch back the power, go and try to turn on washing machine again.

I've changed the belt on my indesit is60v but now it will not start could it be a loose wire? my test pen says power is going from the start button to the timer

Just because power is getting to the switch doesn't necessarily mean the switch isn't bad. It is also possible that the motor or timer is defective.

Dryer was running then stopped

Some driers turn off when overheated. Wait for your drier to cool down and try again. You may need to clear the vent tube which accumulates lint not caught by the drier's lint catch.
An old dryer may be drawing too much power and may have tripped the breaker. Go to your breaker box and look for a switch that is not facing the same way as the others. Push it back in position.
A digitally controlled dryer may freeze like a computer. Try unplugging the machine for 1 minute, plug back in and try again.

I have an admiral electric dryer. It stopped in the middle of a cycle and the light is out and it won't turn on. I checked the fuse box, the plug and the belt is still on, so what do I do now?

Did you test the power outlet with another device...Sometimes a power outlet will fail under the load of a high current appliance like a drier...If the drier runs on 220 volt current...and have circuit breakers instead of fuses...make sure the 220 volt breaker for the dryer is not tripped...If it is tripped...reset it....if not...have a tech to check the outlet. oncee it is established that the drier is getting power and still not working...you may want to get it checked out by service personnel....Hope this was helpful....PEACE.....

My Roper dryer RED4400VQ won't start

Have you checked the door switch? If not make sure it clicks as it should. Next confirm that you have full power to drier, sometimes they have two 120 breakers in your breaker panel, make sure one has not tripped. Also check drier cord and receptical. If all is well it is probably the thermal control fuse behind the back panel on drier, on the blower houseing. It is a small white narrow fuse with two wires to it. There is no way to reset this, you will have to purchase another around 15.00. just be sure to turn drier off and unplug before removeing panel. Good Luck

No heat electric drier..dial moves model LEA10AW

Check the following to address this issue.

1. No power to the dryer
Make sure there's power getting to the dryer. Check for tripped circuit breakers or blown fuses. An electric dryer uses two circuit breakers or fuses, and if only one of two is tripped or blown, the dryer might still run but not heat. Sometimes the power cord disconnects or burns at the dryer, if this is the case, the wiring and the terminal block must be repaired or replaced.

2. Heating element
A burned out heating element will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Replace the element if found defective.

3. Thermal fuse
Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

DISHWASHER WONT POWER UP

HI, there are four problem spots that i recommend checking. these are the most common hot spots for a non responsive dishwasher. Check each area thoroughly to address this issue.

1. No power to the dishwasher
Make sure there's power getting to the dishwasher. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power. Sometimes the power cord disconnects at the dishwasher (inside the junction box, behind the bottom kick panel), if this is the case, the wiring must be repaired or replaced.

2. Door switch
Replace if defective.

3. Timer
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).

4. Selector switch
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).
