The Express Freeze keeps dinging, it is very annoying and doesn't turn off. It just started to do that, it isn't because we tried to use the function. How can I disable it, I have never used the function?

Hi there
if any solutions from fixya experts still cant solve your problem, you always have the last resort to bring it to a service center. hope this wont inconvinience you. thanks for using fixya
Inside the freezer a fan circulates air over the cool tubing and the refrigerant absorbs the heat from the freezer's relatively warmer air.
Check for fan's operation and then remove back of unit and check defrost heater has not become detached.
It may also be a defrost fault (see defrost tube to be clear the only reason it does not flow is due to a restriction).
What can be happen is that the water backs up the drain pipe and then freezes before as water in the external tray can evaporate.
If problem persists it is better to cal a local authorized tech service to inspect the appliance.
Hi,
Do you mean that it is making some sort of huming noise?
Waiting for your reply..
Could you please explain your problem in detail i need more info.
First try unpluging your refrigerator for 1 hour and then plug it in.i think the problem is with the the emitter/receiver boards, these look fairly simple to replace.

this is caused by one of two problems. The foirst being the water valve will no longer open due to water deposits on the valve. This can very easily be replaced by pulling the unit out from the wall and removing the rear panel using a 1/4 inch socket. The second problem and cheaper of the two is to replace the switch that controls the water valve, both the parts you need can be ordered at Sears, using your model number. Here is a diagram of where the switch is and how it breaks down. Diagram

No, it is a dinging and the light for Express Freeze blinks.
No, it is a dinging noise and the light under express freeze flashes.
I assume it must be a signal that the express freeze is on. The book says it is active for 24 hours but we did not push the button, it just started dinging and it has been over 24 hours.
Turning off the refrid. for an hour didn't work, it is still dinging. I will have to have my husband inspect the fan when he gets home. Thanks
Just got home from work, and found out the wife had contacted you. You don't have a clue ,pal!
It seems to me if it were a problem with the fan it would overheat the appliance, not that the Express Freeze would beep intermittantly.
I would like to know how to disable the sound until I can have a repair person look at it.
We have been having a snow storm here since Thursday night, I don't think anyone would rush out here, and it has been beeping since Friday morning.

I am glad I spent $9.99 for someone to tell me to take my refrigerator to a service center! What a rip off, and you call yourself EXPERTS!
