Hi! I am having this exact problem also. The best answer I have been able to discover is that it is related to the freezing up of the internal water tube that drains the fridge compartment into the freezer section. In addition, a pool of water freezes on the interior floor of my freezer and has to be manually chipped up and removed. I did try to unload the freezer and defrost it thoroughly, but it still happens and has to be chipped each week. I am still seeking a solution, but at least I can make the chiming stop by locking the temperature via the button on the front panel. Best wishes. If you discover a better or final soln, please post. I had this problem also. My problem was that the drainage tube that keeps the refrigerator compartment dry was plugged up with the foil backing used in the freezer compartment. This foil backing is used to line the closed cell foam which insulates the defrost heat fins from coming in contact with the plastic back panel. It took a service call from a local repairman two times to unplug the line. We peeled off the foil lining which was the source of the plug. This solution stopped the "door open"/"instant freeze" cycle sound. My fridge is about 6 years old. Hope this helps. Best wishes!

Try pressing ultra ice and home while the refrigerator door is opened,or ultra ice and the refrigerator pad with the freezer opened. Hold for five seconds. Hope that works.

the coil needs to be defrosted or the defrost timer is bad also go to sears.com and you can download a manual :) hope i helped a bit

check your vents in the freezer they may be blocked??

LOW / NO BATTERY ALARM The Low/No battery alarm will activate when the power level of the battery becomes low. The display will alternate between "b" (Battery, See figure 8) and the cabinet temperature, the red alarm light will become illuminated and the control panel will beep every five seconds. To stop the audible alarm (beep), press the "ALARM RESET" button. The red alarm light will remain on and the display will continue to flash until a new battery is installed. try unplugging it and leaving it unplugged for a while. 15 minutes maybe? Leave door closed so it stays relatively cold. It should reset the unit.

The light may be staying on and creating heat, or the unit thinks the door is still open. Or the door seal is worn and is letting cold out. Or It needs gas. Question edited for full 'make model (what it is). Question moved to Maker category. 'FF' is Fast Freeze. Do a Power Reset. Disconnect from the mains for 5 minutes and plug back in. If that doesn't fix it, you will need a service call. It may have leaked refrigerant gas.
