Where can I buy a replacement battery?

Where can I find a replacement battery for the Dyson DC16? I live in Toronto, Ontario (Canada) so a store in Toronto would be great but an online store based in Canada or the USA is fine too!

Hi Phil, My charger went bang and doesn't work anymore so my answer is after you have charged your battery remove it and switch your charger of and never charge a full battery. Has to be said also I would never buy another dyson product again, total rubbish.

If it is within the warranty period get Dyson to replace it. If not, live with it until it fails completely, then buy a Hoover. Your computer board is starting to fail. That's not repairable.

My dyson DC16 constantly shuts off even when battery is fully charged. I cleaned the filters to see if that was the problem. It only runs for a few seconds before it shuts off. It will run intermittently...

From your description of the problem, it sounds as though there is a problem with the battery.

Your DC16 will have been supplied with a 2 year guarantee. If it still within this period, please contact our Helpline on 0800 298 0298. However if your machine is no longer covered, a replacement battery can be purchased via our website at www.dyson.co.uk/store.

My DC 16 will only run for a second each trigger pull. The battery is fully charged, it has plenty of suction, just wont run for more than a second. I cleaned the filters.

I had the same problem with my Dyson DC16, where it only runs for a few seconds at a time with each trigger pull. My husband called Dyson (Canada) and without hassle they shipped us a replacement part which I just received this morning. The replacement part sent to us is: DC16 Main Body with Rating Plate. It is also under warranty for 1 year. The great customer service makes up for the flaw in the machine. Also, Dyson is aware of the problem. Hope this helps.

Battery lasts only 3 - 4 minutes. Dyson admits this is too short, but won't send me a new battery because I live in Canada..

yer its a con and they know it too, rember it takes about 16 hours to fully charge the batterys after they have been knocked flat, and thats only with a good set in it,,, problem is in your battery pack there are whats called "matched batterys" that is the batterys all hold the same amount of charge if one go's down on you the hole pack is a bust bin job as you wont ever get the same kind of battery to replace it with

I am going to sound like a broken record but here is my same answer to another person with the same problem.

I have I had the same problem with my Dyson DC16, where it only runs for a few seconds at a time with each trigger pull. I found a good deal on ebay. Didn't want to pay Dyson's battery price.
I love my Dyson handvac. I'm very happy to have it back again! The new battery solved the problem.

My Dyson DC16 hand vac's battery finally went out at 4 years, which is about right. I didn't want to pay Dyson price for a new one!

I found a great deal on ebay for new batteries that didn't break the bank! That's all it needed.

It's good to have my hand vacuum back! I missed it!
