Reverse and Forward Mode: Try putting the drill in reverse mode and hit the trigger, then forward mode. If that doesn't work, tap the tip on the driveway but don't slam it. It should release .
Use a Wrench: First, make sure that the chuck is in the locked position. Next, use an allen wrench to loosen the set screw on the side of the chuck. Finally, unscrew the drill bit from the chuck .
Remove Chuck Collar: Use a wrench or pliers to loosen the chuck collar and remove it from the chuck. Then, use a screwdriver or other tool to remove the chuck jaws and any other components that may be blocking access to the stuck drill bit. Once these components are removed, you should be able to access the drill bit and remove it from the chuck .
Very often, a certain size of drill bit can get "swallowed " by the drill chuck.
It has happened to me often.
I recommend you insert the drill bit into a vise and tighten it well, leaving a 1/8 inch gap to the chuck.
Take a large screwdriver and pry the chuck away from the vise.
It should come out.
God bless your efforts.
Can not see what model you have. Is it a keyless chuck or an SDS chuck? With a keyless chuck hold the machine in a vice by the drill bit. now tap the chuck with a hammer or pin punch & hammer. DONOT hit the chuck on the jaws gut on the rim around them. I have had success using this method. If it is an SDS type chuck pull the chuck cap up as far as possible along the bit them if there are any ring springs you will have to try remove them then slide the sleeve up the bit, now you should be able to remove any steel balls. If the bit does not come out now hold bit in vice as before and tap on tool holder.
If it won't fall out with the chuck fully open, you'll have to remove the chuck. use an allen wrench larger than the jammed bit and lock it into the chuck. Hit the allen wrench with a soft hammer to loosen the chuck. Remove chuck completely and push the bit out from the bottom.
