Well, for this model of laptop, you can reset the Bios settings and password by removing the battery. If you require instructions to remove the battery then please download the manual from the below link and check page number 31 for the steps:

Hope this helps.

Is there a way or software that i can use to remove a Bios password on a hp laptop?

op why post at all ,on an unstated PC? why make it so hard?
for the HELPER ?
HP made PC for over 33 years.
1000s of models.
what might be your model.?
here Ill do the 33 year history fast.

1: no bios pW in the beginning 1984
2: now PW but has jumper clip protecting other posters, idea.
takes moving the clip reset then back, the service manual at HP covers all this, but i cant point you there, lacking what you own.

3: now HP adds back door secret PW number (ask HP)
each model has secret number, and no more CLIPS (jumpers)
the new security rules kick in.
first with power books and elitebooks only the all PC made.

4: 2012, HP conforms to UEFI laws and needs a spec disk file
to burn the BIOS back using your UUID, number.
why post lacking the full laptop name.
get x10 better answers and 10x better.

some Laptops that battery out RTC CMOS coin cell takes the whole PC LT dismantled, not fun when it's hopeless for you model
how cruel is that? no? sorry but facts are facts. unbending.

model is seen here. on the tag.
line 1. ,3 and 5
found on bottom of laptoo
inside the huge battery well on bottom. or
or on newer LT, its only in the BIOS setup screens(ouch)

this is called a service tag

How do i locate the hp probook 4520s BIOS password jumper on the motherboard

4520s.
you failed because of one reason, you asked on fixya not HP'
why ask here, there are no HP(few) folks here, they are all over at HP, real forum.?
bios resets are tricky,
the new rules changed with UEFI BIOS and or TPM chips added.
back in 2007 the mobo had reset jumper, (mine desktop does)
but not my 2008 elitebook laptop, due to the TPM rules.

first the link to your books
https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-ProBook-4520s-Notebook-PC/4145198

those cover most issues, you will have. all by HP direct,
page 126 here is not too clear;.
the answer is here
your PC is fully locked now, there is no way to reset it .
without HP direct intervention (fixya can never ever do that)
the send you a special binary flash file that only works on YOUR PC (a fact and is by DESIGN)

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-Notebooks/Probook-4545s-Bios-Password-reset/m-p/6350164#M147169

never use a BIOS password, unless you write it down and hide the paper in a book you know, where it is. (got books?) i know books are now (dead technology but)>?
if you guess and start flashing BIOS, you will BRICK THIS PC.

I dont remember the password bios HP pavilion zd8000

Two ways to reset the Bios/CMOS password are as follows: Basically option number is recommended. 1. Mechanically, by removing all power to the Bios/CMOS thereby forcing it to reset itself to its stored defaults. You can do this by removing the CMOS battery from *********** board or by resetting a jumper on the motherboard itself (referred to as a "clear CMOS" jumper)
2. By using a program to either locate and identify the password. This programs are referred to as password by-pass utilities or cracks.

Can anyone help me on how to reset the Bios password to default on an HP Compaq 6710b Laptop? I have an HP Compaq 6710b Laptop. It is booting but it cant go beyond bios boot and i cant enter setup as it is...

A. By Using the Motherboard Jumper:
In most motherboards CMOS battery is soldered, which makes it difficult to remove the battery. In this case we use another method.
Almost all motherboards contain a jumper that can clear all CMOS settings along with the BIOS password. The location of this jumper varies depending upon the motherboard brand. You should read your motherboard manual to check its location. If you don't have the manual then look for the jumpers near the CMOS battery. Most of the manufacturer label the jumper as CLR, CLEAR, CLEAR CMOS, etc.
When you find the jumper, look carefully. There will be 3 pins and the jumper will be joining the center pin to either left or right pin. What you need to do, is remove the jumper and join the center pin to the opposite pin. e.g. if the jumper joins center pin to left pin, then remove it and join center pin to right pin. Now wait for a few seconds and then again remove the jumper and join the center pin to left pin.
Make sure to turn the PC off before opening the cabinet and resetting the jumper.

B. By Using Software:

I have found that BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool is the most effective.:
BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool is a program that works instantly to remove any lost or forgotten BIOS/CMOS password. Simply boot your PC to DOS and execute the program, and get access to forgotten BIOS/CMOS passwords in just seconds

How do i remove bios password

There are many known ways to reset / remove / bypass the password:

* By removing the CMOS battery
* By using the motherboard jumper
* By using MS DOS command
* By using software
* By using Backdoor BIOS password
Almost all motherboards use a small coin sized CMOS battery to store all BIOS settings along with the password. To reset the password, unplug the PC, open the cabinet and remove the CMOS battery for approx. 15-30 minutes and then put it back. It'll reset all BIOS settings as well as the password and you'll need to re-enter all settings.

If it fails, then try to remove the battery for at least one hour.
