Deleting Blank sides of paper

I work for a company that scans physical files so the paper has hole punches in it. Well when we scan the paper though the scanner it reads the holes as writing on the second side of the paper even though there is no words on the page. We don't want the blank paper in our system when we are going back to look at the files. Do you know how to fix the scanner so that it will delete the blank pages that have hole punches on them? Thanks for your help.

The KV-S3065C scanner driver has features to help with this:

  • Image enhancement - Hole Removal
  • Blank Page Detection (and removal)
Of course, the software you are using will determine how/if you have access to these features. The Hole Removal is great, but it really looks for perfect round holes. Blank Page detection is also great; it may take a little tweaking, to get the results you are looking for, but once set it save a lot of time.
Make sure you have the latest drivers: http://panasonic.co.jp/pcc/products/en/scanner/downl_e.htm

KHOW DO I GET THE PRINTER TO MAKE A COPY OF SOMETHING

No make/model, so here's a generic method:
[based on Samsung Multi-function]

Presuming printer is a MF unit:
Place paper-to-copy face down on the flatbed glass.
Close lid.
Ensure blank paper is correctly loaded in feeder tray.
For a once-off direct 'photocopy':
Press COPY on printer .

For copying (scanning) to a file:
Printer on, drivers installed, blank paper loaded, original on flatbed.
At computer, go to Start.
In search-box type in scan
Left-click magnifying glass to confirm search.
You should see Scan a document or picture appear in icon list.
Click this.
A scanning window should pop up:

How to load 3 hole punch paper in a copier

Like normal. Those three holes should not affect the print at all as all of the rollers are flat. I would not not stick it in a dot matrix printer though.

Blank scan with neat desktop scanner

Connect the scanner to a different computer.
If you get the same result, then the scanner is "dead".
It's moving the scanning-head, but not detecting (or not transmitting) any "non-base-line" information.

Either that, or you have changed the CONTRAST and/or BRIGHTNESS settings to "wash-out" the image -- like looking at a "cream" coloured piece of paper in bright sunlight -- it may look "white".

Can Lexmark x2470 scan and print a double sided document?

after reading the manual, http://www.lexmark.com/publications/pdfs/2007/2400/ug_en.pdf, yes it is possible - not that it tells you how to do it though so read on.
Until you become familiar with the process just use one sheet of paper at a time in the printer.
As you know, in the scanner the top right of your document goes to the right hand front corner of the scan bed (the clear window), place the page on the scanner and scan.
Pick up the printed sheet of paper and flip it so the left hand side edge is now in your right hand and the right hand edge is now in your left hand and you are now looking at the blank side of the paper.
Insert the page back into the sheetfeeder.
Flip the page to copy in the scanner so the rearmost edge of the paper is now to the front of the scan bed and the front edge of the paper is now towards the rear (you should now be looking at the page you scanned previously).
Scan the page.
you should have now scanned both sides of one sheet of paper to another sheet of paper.
as your printer does not have a sheet feeder for the scanner you have to do the process manually. hope this helps.

How do I set up my scanner to scan multiple pages at once, without having to keep hitting the scan button. ( fi-6140 )

Hi, are you using Scannedallpro software? If so, press the batch scan setting button (2nd right after the white drop down menu). This will give you access to your settings. Select add, name your new profile appropriately, then select SCAN, Click SHOW CONFIRMATION WHEN NO PAPER IN ADF, then click on Detail Scanner Settings. This will take you to your options screen. Select either Duplex, for double sided or ADF Front side for single sided. You can choose to drop out blanks by clicking on the OPTION button at the bottoms of the screen, then JOB/CACHE, click the selection button for Blank Page Skip and choose the sensitivity. (I usually use a low setting). Click OK.
when happy with your settings click OK again, then apply.

Use your new profile to batch scan. The system will scan until the hopper is empty and should ask if you want to continue with the same batch scan, allowing you to add paper until the job is complete.

NB Always ensure you have selected Multi Page Tagged Image File Format as the system will not save your scan as one document without it.

Hope this helps!

Want to delete

When you scan things, it gets saved to a location on your computer as a JPG (image file). In the program you use to do the scanning it should tell you what folder it is in, it'll be something like "C:\Documents And Settings\Abc\Something\...". Or maybe "C:\Program Files\Canon\Abc\Something\blah...". Each scan is a separate image file. All you have to do is go to Start->My Computer, then navigate to the location where the files are being saved using explorer. Then select the offending image and hot delete.

Don't deleting things that aren't your scan, though. You can break your computer that way.

HP Printer /scanner problem

Are you running a space cleanup utility? HP unhelpfully uses the .tmp extension for live files, ensure you're not deleting them. I got "Scan.msi not found" and had to reinstall my AIO software every time until I told WinOptimiser to stop deleting .tmp files (except in the genuine TEMP folders).
