Everything works however, it will not heat anything. The microwave just stopped working. any help would be appreciated
Okay, that loud humming sound you are hearing is coming from the unit trying to energize the magnetron. Depending on how old your oven is, it could be still under warranty (this is covered under the warranty, trust me). If it is an older oven, like 2 years or more, you can bring it to an appliance repair facility and instruct them to replace the magnetron.
I am telling you to take it to a facility because you as a consumer cannot buy a magnetron...the federal government will not allow appliance companies to sell them to you.
Remove the case and look for a blown fuse. If found, look for a shorted high voltage diode or a shorted stirrer bearing (replace the entire stirrer)--a fan like device that is located inside the sheet metal wave guide near the entry point to the cooking cavity of the microwave energy. Be sure to use a cup of water for a 'cooking load' when repairs are made.
