You need to either replace the cable or the lcd itself.you can try reseating the cable which is attached to the lcd itself or the inverter cable which resides at the base of the lcd.
good luck

The LCD is going bad, the replacement cost is about 200$ a ballpark figure keep in mind, first bring it to a repair shop and get a estimate, i usually don't charge for this. But this will depends on that specific shop that you bring it to. Good luck.

Under that select 'User'.
Now you can select either Red, Green or Blue.

I get a pop up with a RED CONTRAST screen every few minutes It sometimes goes away if I push the contrast button on my Dell monitor. but it will usually come right back. I have tried everything to stop...

You can try the monitor on another computer to verify it is the monitor and not the display card at fault.

I'm assuming this is an LCD monitor. If you are sure the monitor is the problem, then your monitor's display driver circuit is probably getting close to failing. When one of the three colors (red, green, blue) becomes intermittent, the screen takes on the hue of the working colors. In your case it sounds like the blue is starting to fail.

A repair technician may be able to replace the circuit.

Black screen ecept for thin white line around all four side. Channel buton changes colors in various section of screen. On/ off button does not work

I found the solution on mine. To restate, I just saw a thin white border around a black screen. Pressing the channel up or down buttons changed the screen, in some kind of test mode to shades of gray, and red, green, and blue. I started finding a solution when I noticed when on one of the color screens, that the volume up or down buttons brought up a new menu for color intensity. Finally, I got back to the thin white border screen and pressed the arrow keys in the top half of the remote. Finally a TV screen and I pressed the enter key! Voila!

hi there !

-if you switch the computer on and it boots up and you hear the windows sound, this could be a possible video problem or motherboard problem
-run the diags on the LCD, while the computer is off, press and hold "D" then press power button at the same time, if you see the colors red blue green without any problems then it is a motherboard or video card problem
-another method to run the test is while the computer is off; preess and hold Fn then press power button, let the test run; when you see the question were colour bars displayed, press N, if you see the colors red blue and green without any problem then it is a motherboard problem or video card; otherwise it is an LCD problem
-to toggle display on the external monitor press Fn then F8

cheers !

Covergence out of alignment on 1/4 Vertical left side of screen

You need to manually adjust the alignment:
On remote, press Menu to get to the main menu
Then arrow down to "ADVANCED FEATURES"
Then press "enter"
Then Arrow down to "CONVERGENCE" and press "enter"
"Red Convergence" should be highlighted
Press "enter"
You now have Green, Red, and Blue overlapping crosses.
If Red is out of whack, use arrows to align
To toggle to blue (and back to red), press "VIDEO"
Then align blue cross
Once the crosses look aligned, and nice and white, press "AUDIO"
This will bring up the Advanced Convergence screen
This is a grid of the same overlapping colors
You have control over the Red and Blue
If Green is very out of whack, you'll need a repairman…
While the "target" is flashing, you can move it around the screen with the arrows
Place it over an intersection to adjust, then press "enter"
Now the "target" is steady (not flashing), and you can use the arrows move your color
When it's aligned, press "enter" again
Now "target is flashing, and you can go to the next square.
You cannot adjust every intersection.
Some areas need to be adjusted via the adjacent intersection
When you're happy with color you're working on,
Press "video" while target is flashing to change to the other color
Repeat the above (blue is much harder to see and adjust for me…)
When you're happy with the entire grid, start hitting "Menu"
Each press brings you back out one menu level, until you are out of them
Once you're used to the process, it should take no more than a minute or two.

Problems with screen display colors

If you seeing an absence of greens it usually means your connector at the back of the flat panel are not tightened firmly. Use a screwdriver to get them snug. The same goes for the connector at the back of the PC.
