Where do I reconnect the foxconn cable for the Dell 1525 laptop?

im doing post this year , not answered, back to jan1, if fails when dropped and drowned. wow, that is some test , LOL> At least not shot from a cannon, no? get it repaired, pops to mind. foxconn, what is that?ok the mobo maker is that. is not this PC a relic of 20 years ago? why mess with relics, no parts for them. hdd yes. battery yes. the keyboard ribbon connector is not connected so plug it back in, if the jack is damage, put the PC in the trash. easy no? no need to buy expensive parts to fix a $5 not working used PC.'no? what I do is carbon date PCs then see if last sold for price last one was $14 whole whopping bucks, or 1buck at the typ, garage sale, H3LL even free. like you. laptops are like DOG years, and this one is 70 years old. 2008 made, not too old but is dog. based on values now. the problem with PC is not being able to run w10-64, if it can't than it has no future. IMO, after all Viruses stink. so.... w10 is the answer. 64bit is best. 32bit is END OF LIFE products. read page 27 here, at dell, real dell not fake not spam, real. http://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_laptop/esuprt_inspiron_laptop/inspiron-1525_service%20manual_en-us.pdf shows how to replace a keyboard ,just like all service manuals show. wort salt and not from china.

Plugged in not charging

First, check to see there is no physical damage around the charging port, then if you have a AVO meter, check that the charging cord is actually putting out a current; then go to the BIOS and look inside. if you see Adapter , Unknown device installed, that is your answer - it isn't a Dell charger. Now go to https://www.dell.com/community/General/Dell-Inspiron-1525-new-battery-not-charging-in-BIOS-showing/m-p/4709466 If that message is not there 1. Ensure that the battery is securely in the laptop and that none of the pins on the computer or battery are dirty. 2. Consider that there was nothing wrong with the old battery but the circuit on the motherboard that controls the charging is faulty - there is usually one chip that is at fault in this case. 3. The new battery is completely discharged: does the battery show signs of life when used without the charging cable? If it does, this is not the problem

My screen is black and i cant get rid of this popup

This popup is a sign of a malware infection on your system. You can use ctrl+alt+ del to bring up the task manager, open the processes tab, and locate the pc.exe and agent.exe processes. Select them, right click and end process for each. That should temporarily get rid of the popup. (See link here, and here, but please don't follow the instructions given there to delete files, etc. Just kill the processes and use the following tools.)
Now you'll need to do some cleanup to remove the offending program from your system before you reboot.
Go to this link and follow the first 4 steps of the malware removal guide. Make sure to update MBAM before you scan, and make sure you follow through all 4 steps before restarting your computer. If you want detailed info on how to run the MBAM, as well as a good description of how you got this virus, click here. Then restart your system and see how it runs. I'd advise an indepth scan with your antivirus program to check for further problems, but that should take care of the privacy center rogue.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

You can't upgrade for no $. But you could (month ago) sign up for Windows Upgrade Offer to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8 Pro for just $14.99, now it is $39.99 and it's no longer the upgrade offer. If you want to get Windows 8 for free*, that is considered as a crime and piracy, so please do not try to do that.

Battery is not charging

First, you need to make sure your power adapter is providing enough power to both run the laptop & charge the battery. A very good way to do this is to compare your laptop voltage & ampere requirements (written on a sticker on the bottom of the laptop) with the voltage & ampere ratings of the power adapter. Voltages should be the same, or the power adapter's voltage about up to 0.5 volts more than the laptop's voltage rating. Amperage of the power adapter should be at least equal to or greater than the laptop's rating. It should never be less than the laptop's rating, or else the power adapter will be providing insufficient amperes to charge the battery. Of course, the power adapter's nominal amperage might be ok, but it degraded on usage. You can verify this by testing using a good or new power adapter.
If the battery did not charge using the new power adapter, take the battery off the laptop, & using a dry tooth brush, scrub in between the fins of the battery connector on the motherboard & on the battery it self, then put the battery back into the laptop & try again.
If this still did not resolve the problem, then the battery itself could be bad. Try it on another laptop, or try a good or new battery in your laptop.
If this did not work, there might be a possibility that the charging circuitry on the laptop's motherboard is defective & needs servicing. In order to do this, the laptop needs to be disassembled & the motherboard checked for defective/burned out components in the area near the DC jack. Any defective/burned out components found should be replaced, or you might need to replace the laptop's motherboard altogether

Cannot log onto my Dell Inspiron 1525, password not recognised.

That is right. Not only you need a password, to open the PC and be able to run the programm's, the password is also a key for encription of the data. No password, no data. When you do a reset, and install Windows again, you will lose all data on the computer. So is you really can't remember the password and you did not make a mistake with the caps, you should be lost. I know there are some less legal program's around, but I can't tell you what programs and I even don't know a name. I think you better use Google, to find out which program's are available and how to get them. Perhaps via news groups. But be aware program's to hack a password, come from a certain community. When you have a program, didconnect the computer from the net, try to recover the password and backup the data unscrambled. Then run a good virus scanner and delete the program. Just saying.
