I got a free sharp notevision PG-m20x. I plug it

I got a free sharp notevision PG-m20x. I plug it in and the red light on the power button comes on. I push the power button which then turns green the fan turns on and the Lamp light turns green and slowly flashes. After about 5-10 seconds the fan turns off and the power turns off and red light comes on. Any suggestions would be great.

    IMPORTANT question--does the lamp ignite at all when the power button turns green?? I'm gonna give you some scenarios... 1) if lamp does ignite, the problem could be a bad cooling fan--either not turning or not putting out a computer signal *indicating* it's turning to the main board 2) If lamp *doesn't* ignite, problem could be a bad lamp--remove and inspect the lamp for dark bulb, bulges or blisters on the glass showing the lamp has reached the end of its life--and/or a bad ballast(the circuit that controls the lamp ignition and burning)

If you don't hear a high-pitched whir, the colorwheel needs replacing. if you do hear it, the lamp may need replacing. if the lamp is new, there is a power supply problem.

Power light comes on red then blinks but never progress from there
This sounds like the same problem that I had with a blinking red light on the PG-M20X. Below is the solution that I posted a couple of years ago:

The RL701 relay on the main power board is the problem. I removed the cover of the relay and cleaned the contacts. Despite the contacts being worn down it worked great. I have ordered a new relay from Sharp for about $35 to replace it (part # 95CK3102AL001).

I had the same problem with the blinking red light. I looks as if realy RL701 on the main power board is the problem. I removed the cover of the relay and cleaned the contacts. Despite the contacts being worn down it worked great. I have ordered a new relay from Sharp for about $35 to replace it (part # 95CK3102AL001).

I turned the projector on and worked for a while then it stopped projecting the bulb light is blinking red and the power is green any help
It appears that the unit is overheating. Make sure that the fan comes on and that you do not have the projector sitting on a rug or fabic that will restrict air flow. j.

Sharp PG-M20X digital projector runs 2-5 minutes then shuts off
the Fan has the problem , I had the same of yours. I noticed some particle was inserted in the center of the fan and removed it , worked perfectly. If old one produce little particles.

The Notevision came on and powered up. I left the room and came back and the red light blinks but the motor does not come on.
