Hi Stephen,Do you hear any fans starting when you turn on the projector? Try unplugging and then plugging in the projector. Make sure that the lamp door is secured as the projector will not start if it is loose. You should also reset the timer for your projector. The manual can be found on the site of www.allprojectorlamps.com.

Turn on projector, press and hold the input, enter and undo buttons on the projector then while still holding those three press the on button. Make sure you do this before the timer goes to 0% or it wont turn on again.

your bulb is going bad, replace it and the problem will be resolved.

Blue polarizer has gone bad.

Two possibilities:

1) Air filter is clogged and preventing proper air flow

2) Lamp is getting old and is less efficient, creating excess heat.


For option 1, check the air filter located on the bottom of the projector. Page 81 of the manual details this process:

Once you have removed filter,either replace or clean out with vacuum or simply blowing out the dust

Option 2: if you have used the projector for over 1500 hours, there is a good chance the lamp is close to the end of its life cycle. Check to see if the lamp replacement light is on; it is just below the power button on the unit.

Once removed from the unit, see if the lamp has any bubbles or crystallization. The crystallization makes the mirror in the lamp look muddled, rather than crisply reflecting light.

I am not sure what the sequence is but sometimes you can hold a couple of buttons to reset this. The problem is that sharp does not like to say what the procedure is and that you will need to find a local dealer to help you with this. You may be able to do this over the phone or will need to drop it off.

I am not sure what you mean by reforming but have you check your brightness and contrast adjustments.

Question edited for clarity. Remove the curl out of the paper by running 6" across the edge of a desk against the curl. With scissors, cut the end 1/2" straight. Then cut a 1/2" off both corners at 45 degrees.
