I assume basic dust and dirt has been cleaned from the internal parts.
Usually printer holds these rubber rolls that are used for the paper intake. With time these rolls become hard and will stop working. Either changing these items (if possible) or carefully sanding these might help to solve your issue. However sanding will only be a temporary solution and in the long run changing those intake rolls will be the only option.
Restart the printer so the paper that is jammed will be feed out from the printer if this doesn't work. Remove the paper that is jammed inside your printer by pulling the paper manually and restart again the printer.
Try to reset your printer. Unplug the power adapter from the printer.
Wait at least 10 sec before replugging the adapter to the printer. Try to print again. If that doesn't help, there could be something in the feeder that's blocking the paper path. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder and grab a flashlight and look inside.
Just click on this link and you'll have the step by step procedure on how you'll clear paper jam. This troubleshooting works for HL-5140, HL-5150D, HL-5170DN brother printers.
take a look inside the printer there are a few small rubber wheels (where paper comes out)
most likely you have a small piece of paper jammed and blocking the left wheel from pulling the paper. they are very delicate so be gentle with them. the issue may also be caused from the back set of wheels where the paper feeds into the printer.
I have a straight piece if clear plastic thet is approx same size as sheet of paper and this is what I use to clear paper jams. The best way to prevent this from happening again is to remove paper when not using and cover printer with a small towel. I have found p-clips and all sorts of junk in clinets printers.

Driver could be corrupt. Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off.
I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with
the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the
printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
