Sometimes if the page from the printer comes out faded it seems like the ink is low if not you will have to change the printer settings so it will print full dark ink on page. there are settings to print a draft or full dark print out. see if it is set on draft

I found a solution that worked to eliminate the faded black stripe down the page thanks to a post by slamfix in another forum. The problem is related to ink build up on the blade edge of the black developer assembly in the imaging unit (the imaging unit contains 4 separate developers - yellow, blue, magenta, and black). The solution involves taking out the imaging unit, removing and cleaning the blade edge of the black ink developer until smooth. It took me about 15 minutes to complete and was fairly straightforward.
