When I connect Xerox XA7 19i LCD monitor to my Acer laptop running Windows XP, I am unable to see DVDs. Everything else seems fine, but DVD content is not displayed. I have tried various players, WinDVD and VLC etc. but have no joy. Please help!
If you see the dvd on the laptop and not the monitor:
Your problem is probably with your video card and its settings and not the monitor.
Some video cards wont support dvd playback on two screens at once.
What you have to try is to enable only the external monitor and disable the laptop lcd.
This can be done using shortcut keys on the laptop (usually this involves using the Fn key and one of the F# keys at the same time- the F# key may have a picture of two screens on it or be labeled CRT-LCD)
You can also change the settings in the display properties settings.
Sometimes the display settings as far as resolution are set too high for some dvd players. Lowering the resolution can take care of that problem.
