20 Most Recent Xerox XA7-192i 19" LCD Monitor Questions & Answers

I had the same problem but fortunately I have two of these monitors so could fiddle with the menus on the working monitor until I could work out how to fix it on the one with the white screen problem. Here's what you do:-

With the monitor on and the white screen showing press MENU, then UP 7 times, then MENU and presto! Your screen will be back to normal.

What this does is change the input from ANALOG to DIGITAL (or vice versa!) either way this worked for me.

99% of LCD monitors and TV failure are due to bad DC filter caps as you can see in my albums.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

I assume you mean the monitor itself keeps shutting off and on? These LCD style monitors are infamous for failed power supplies, due to faulty capacitors inside the unit (which are very hard to detect). the capacitors buldge and sometimes leak when they are faulty. they work for a very short time, then fail. BE VERY CAREFUL inside any monitor as Capacitors Can give you a whopper of a shock, Even after being unplugged. if its your house power breaker, Id look to a frayed power wire, or the wall receptacle. Try a different outlet see if the problem moves with you, which would point to the monitor itself.

You can adjust the colors manually on the Chroma circuit Board at the back of the CRT. Or check for any cold solder and do drysoldering. Cheers

If you see the dvd on the laptop and not the monitor:
Your problem is probably with your video card and its settings and not the monitor.
Some video cards wont support dvd playback on two screens at once.
What you have to try is to enable only the external monitor and disable the laptop lcd.
This can be done using shortcut keys on the laptop (usually this involves using the Fn key and one of the F# keys at the same time- the F# key may have a picture of two screens on it or be labeled CRT-LCD)
You can also change the settings in the display properties settings.

Sometimes the display settings as far as resolution are set too high for some dvd players. Lowering the resolution can take care of that problem.

try this test: put your PC into hibernate mode after the event of ..."After about an hour in this state, the screen will, after a further power on and off, resume normal operation. Functions perfectly...". Then force a hibernate state (START-SHUT DOWN-hold shift while hover STANDBY). Now, while in hibernate state, force a "resume Windows" state (space-bar on my PC). Any change on display to note? Hoping you answer yes, it is better now. If so, then continue with hibernate mode.

The main problem is here is the graghics card its needs to updated and make sure the pins are alright on the display cable. Also you need to uninstall the integreated one that came with the PC first before you install a graghics card. so right now you need to put the display back to the motherboard display then when you have that done then you put it in the grafics card you have then it should something i had the same promblem for awile i couldnt figure it out either. Hope that works for you. Good luck
