Setting the ring tone and ringer volume You can choose one of the four different ring tones and set the ringer volume. To set the ring tone and volume: 1. Make sure that the ringer is turned ON. 2. Press the Set Options key. 3. Press the down arrow three times or press [3] to go directly to the item. 4. Press [3] and follow the instructions on the display. When picking the ring tone, press the volume bar to adjust the volume. 5. Press [Save] to end when you are satisfied with the ring tone and ringer volume.
Is the ring volume turned up? Turn the ring volume up by attaching and plugging in the cord for the answering machine. Next leave the handset on the phone and press the up volume button with the plus(+) sign next to it.
Picking up the handset while pressing the up or down volume button will increase the voice volume.
The answering machine does not have to be on for this to work.
The HP All-in-One provides three levels for adjusting the Ring and Beep Volume and the Phone Line Monitor Volume.
The ring volume is the volume of the phone rings. The beep volume is the level of button press and error beeps. The default Ring and Beep Volume setting is Soft.
The Phone Line Monitor Volume is the volume of dial tones and fax tones. The default Phone Line Monitor Volume is Medium.
To adjust the Ring and Beep Volume from the control panel
1. Press Setup.
2. Press 4, and then press 4 again. This selects Basic Fax Setup and then selects Ring and Beep Volume.
3. Press to select one of the options: Soft, Loud, or Off.
4. Press OK.
To adjust the Phone Line Monitor Volume from the control panel
1. Press Setup.
2. Press 4, and then press 5. This selects Basic Fax Setup and then selects Phone Line Monitor Volume.
3. Press to select one of the options: Medium, High, or Low.
Turn the ring clockwise. Okay, so the ring doesn't actually turn. Just put a fingertip on it and run it along the ring clockwise. And if you go too far, turn it counterclockwise.
If the volume is still too low, go into the Settings menu and look at the Volume entry.

Note If you select Off, you will not hear a dial tone, fax tones, or incoming ring

its the camera ring thingy outside the lens on the back of your phone, you can turn counter clockwise to increase the volume (might be the other way I'm not sure)
to turn up the ring volume on the blackjack, there are two on the left hand side above the ear/charger port a UP & DOWN. those i use to adjusted my volume.
