How do you get the bin cover back on?

Hi, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC59's bin base is not designed to be removed from the machine in normal use. However if it's come off accidentally, the hinge is a push-fit connection and you should be able to reattach it without difficulty.

If you're having issues with this, you're welcome to get in touch with our experts directly so we can talk you through it. When you have your DC59 to hand, please give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

How to fit a foot release pedal on a samsung su2931 vacuum cleaner

I have a Samsung SU2920. The pedal has broken. Spare is available on espares. To remove the broken pedal:
Turn the machine over and locate the foot pedal side near a rear wheel.
Operate the pedal to see how it is held in place by a moulded pin which is captured by two lugs on the underside of the body. Use a torch to get some light in there.

Insert a thin blade on either side to bend the plastic lugs slightly so that the moulded pin on the foot pedal can slide upwards without being held by the lugs. The pedal will not slide up easily. I used a hammer and a metal bar to tap it free.
Once the pedal is removed, the spare can be clicked into place from the top without tools.

Can you tell me how to replace the bin flap on a Dyson DC07?

Hi there, its Darran at Dyson here.

The plastic is quite flexible, you should be able to locate the bin base into one of the lugs on one side of the bin and then twist it slightly to locate the other lug.

If you are still having problems, please contact our Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK) or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Kind regards
Darran

Kenmore whispertone 100 model 116. powerhead no

  • The motor / cord compartment cover must be removed to access the cord reel. There are four screws that hold the cover to the chassis. Two of the screws are found under the cord-retractor-foot-pedal on the top back of the canister. To access these screws the pedal must be removed. To do this, press the pedal down and look (from the top) for the four plastic clips that attach/hold the pedal hinges to the cover. There are two at the end corners and two in the middle. Using a long, thin flat-head screw driver (or similar instrument) press each clip to unhook/popout the hinges. Note: the foot pedal spring will also come out when the pedal is removed.

The other two screws are found under the curved hinges of the vaccum bag compartment cover. To access these, lift the cover as if accessing the vacuum bag. Keep pulling the cover back until the hinges release from the motor cover. Don't worry, it is disigned to do this and will not break but it may require a little force. A long phillip-head screw driver will be needed to access and remove each screw

How do you get to motor?

To get access you need to remove the plastic side cover panels. To remove these, I found the easiest way was to use a small flat screw driver, leverage it under the pastic in the centre at the 'cord end' and lift carefully. There are two lugs at the top and one at the bottom. The plastic panel will 'bow' a little, but with care, it will pop off. The gold looking vents underneath are just a 'facade'. By removing the side plastic panels they will expose three screws either side. Undo these and the top will half of the cleaner will lift off. Good luck!
