Sony DCR-TRV19 Will not play a tape.

It will fast forward and rewind, and the tape does move when recording. Can't tell if it's recording anything, but it does move. Just won't move on playback.

SOURCE: Sony Handycam CCD-TRV37 8mm Analog... 2 Problems, maybe more unknown at this time:

This does require disassembly to remedy the problem. There are various possible fixes. The most prevelant I have seen is cold solder connections of the board connector for the fpc cable from the top operation switch block ass'y. All you need is someone who can handle this task, like a professional. The controls that you are experiencing problems with are all linked with one cable and connector. One bad solder joint can cause serveral operation faults. Good Luck, magic seadog

SOURCE: No playback on DCR-TRV103

In playback mode the lCD displays the battery time, hi8 symbol and the tape counter. all the functions work the tape will play, rewind, fast forward. The screen stays blank on playback and the tape counter stays at 0:00:00 eventhough I can see the tape turning. I also hooke the camera to my tv and I got no picture.

SOURCE: Won`t Rewind

Do you still have the remote control? Try with the remote. If this works, the button of the camera is broken and have to be replace by a qualified technician. Good luck!

SOURCE: Sony Handycam Dig 8 doesn't recognize tape when trying to record

If it has memory stick, Make sure your memory stick is in. Your memory stick is full. Delete the unwanted pictures from the memory stick or use a differnt biger memory stick.

I looked in the manual. It seems your camcorder does not have a slot for memory stick. But you may still save pictures on the tape. Here is the link to download the manual

http://www.docs.sony.com/release/DCRTRV140.pdf

Please read Page 40 "recording picture on the tape".

GOOD LUCK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The dictaphone wont rewind or fast forward and makes a bleeping noise

Hi,
Does the tape move when you press rewind or fast forward.
If the tape moves for a few seconds then bleeps it sound like a sensor problem.
If it only bleeps when the rewind and fast forward are pressed and the play is ok it sounds like the actuator motor is faulty, this motor enables the rewind and fast forward.
Hope this helps.

What would cause a sony dcr trv120 zoom button not

There is control switch block that has zoom/wide switch along with play, rewind, forward, stop, pause buttons and this switch block flip up and down while ejecting/ load tape in camcorder, this will be replaced as zoom/wide switch got defective and sending continues command of zoom to system control chip.
Let me know if you need part number of switch block control for DCR-TRV120

We can see the image in fast forward or rewind but and no audio

Many parts are still available on these camcorders however if it needs a video head for example, and it's not avaiable it may be a better idea to get another 8mm camcorder off ebay, or maybe a pawn shop. just test them with a new blank tape first before putting your family tapes in.

Suddenly my Sony M-2000 Microcassette Transcriber will not PLAY. The tape will Rewind and Fast Forward fine, but when you push PLAY, it just beeps and won't move. Any ideas?

Just talked to Exec. Communication Systems. He said that the play motor is not turning (the rewind and fast forward uses a separate motor) and the problem is either the belt or the motor. They can repair them at $82.00 plus parts and shipping.

CANNOT PLAY OR RECORD A TAPE WHEN FIREWIRE IS CONNECTED

When you plug your camcorder into a firewire cable, the tape is usually controlled by a software program through a video editing system. On windows Pinnacle Studio uses a queing program to capture tapes. This way you can play, fast forward, and rewind on the screen.
