Wait for some time to respond.if everything is not responding, u have no other option, except switching off the power supply. u should leave the system for 1 to 2 hours without switching on.then start the system. u might install extra in built fan for cooling(or) keep the system in well ventilated place.

SOURCE: frozen mouse with a touch pad laptop computer

Dear MGK7,

That does make it more difficult! Okay, for future reference, when you have key control again and the mouse or touch pad stops working, if you have a standard 101 key keyboard, or even a laptop with one key instead of two on certain keys, you can do it this way:

1. Hit the Windows key, which will open your start menu.
2. Pressing the Windows key and Pause/break will take you to your system properties.
3. Minimizing and restoring screens hit Windows key and "D".
4. To get to Utility Manager, hit Windows key and "U". This will, among other things, allow you to choose to use only the keyboard or the mouse, so you can disconnect the mouse, among many other things.
5. Pressing Windows key and "F1" will take you to Help & Support.
6. Windows key plus "E" takes you to Windows Explorer".
7. Pressing "Cntrl, Alt, Delete" takes you to the task manager.

These keys should provide help in getting around in your system without a mouse.

To get to control panel, for example, press the Windows key to op[en the Start menu, and use the "up arrow" button to go to control panel.

Now that everything appears frozen, power your machine down. Remove the battery from the rear for a few minutes, even if you are operating on A/C plug in. Put the battery back in and power up. Did this make any difference?

You can always buy an inexpensive laptop mouse which works on USB. When you plug in the USB the mouse works independently of everything else. Then you could click the start up memory, help, and choose restore to an earlier time before this problem happened.

That usually will clear any problem.

Please let me know what happens.

The touch pad on my loptop is not working even all the setting is applied. my unit is acer aspire 5732z 64 bit. please healp...

There could be a couple of reasons it doesn't work. First, it could be defective.
Next, you could have turned it off. In some computers there is a little button near the touchpad that if pushed turns the pad off. There is also a Function key-special function combo that if pushed together turns the pad off or on. Most likely you have turned it off by mistake.
You just push the Fn key plus the special function key that has a little icon on it that represents the pad/mouse.
That should do it.

I right clicked on the desktop and it doesn't show the properties

Try activating the context menu with the keyboard using the Menu Key.
In computing, the Menu key or Application key is a key found on Microsoft Windows-oriented computer keyboards. It is typically found on the right side of the keyboard between the right Control key and Windows key (or between the right control key and right Alt key).
The key's primary function is to launch a context menu with the keyboard rather than with the usual right-mouse button. The key's symbol is a small icon depicting a cursor hovering above a menu. This key was created at the same time as the Windows key. The Menu key can be used when the right-mouse button is not present on a mouse.

Hope this Helps

Aspire 5100 mouse is frozen how to fix problem

Try restarting your computer by pushing the windows button on the bottom of the keyboard on the left side, generally next to the ALT button. use your arrow keys to move over to the shut down button, select restart and restart your computer. Or you can shut down and then push the power button to start up your computer. This should help reset your laptop and unfreeze your mouse.

If this does not work, go to the control panel, again using the windows button and the arrow keys. select mouse, then go thru the tabs on the window to make sure that your mouse pad is selected to control your mouse.

If you found this information helpful, please remember to leave positive feedback.

Thank You,
Brian

Mouse pad does not work. have tried holding down function key and then pushing F7 key. nothing

If its a Compaq then there is a mouse pad power button at the very top of the pad. If not it may be disabled in the bios and needs be enabled for use. It is not uncommon for a user to disable the mouse pad on a laptop they r annoying.

Acer monitor frozen & curser will not move.

If your mouse will not move, it is a problem with the computer, Make sure you're plugging it into the correct port. If it's a ps2 mouse don't plug it into the keyboard port by mistake.

Does the keyboard work? If you press the windows key does the start menu come up?

If the keyboard works, try using a USB mouse. If the keyboard does not work, try plugging the keyboard in where the mouse is and the mouse in where the keyboard is.
