SOURCE: motorized brush bar not turning on Dyson Vacuum

Apparent common failure is that either the thin yellow and or blue motor drive wires that run from the LH side of the vacuum where the "control board" is located down into the hinge / ball area become stretched and then fray and eventually break. Happened to my Dyson twice. First repaired under warranty, second took about 20 minutes. You need a Torx screwdriver to remove the LH panel ( 4 screws) and also an access panel (2 screws) at the side of the ball which permits access to the blue / yellow wire connectors. I replaced with a new wire and connectors having fed the wires through the access hole making sure sure enough wire was available for the movement of the handle. Also ensure that when the covers are replaced they do not trap any wires underneath.

SOURCE: Bought clearance item Sunday just found out the

This appears to be a loose connection. The below post was answered by highntools a while ago. It probably is related to you problem. That is why moving it back and forth makes it go on.
I have finally fixed my sister's dyson dc 15 beater bar problem. It was just 2 tiny broken wires connect to circuit board lead to the beater bar. The wires broke where they go through the black rubber gommet. You need a torx screwdriver tx 15 to remove 2 plastic covers to access the wires. When looking at the front of the vacuum, the gray covers located on the right side of the vacuum. 1 big cover with a black rubber gasket and other small gray cover is on the rotating ball area.

There have been several people who reported loose or burnt wires to be the culprit for the brush bar not working. The DC15 does not use a belt, but a motor that is control by the circuit board. And I really believe that in your instance, the problem is a loose wire between the circuit board and the brush motor.

Fairly new powervac pet motorized pet tool stops spinning. hard to turn shaft by hand but eventually will spin free but not for long when running?????

I took the brush out of the motorized attachment, took the 2 screws out, and carefully popped the attachment open. There is a little motor with a belt that runs to the brush and the belt on mine had slipped off the gears. The belt was pretty loose when on the gears so it wasn't surprising it slipped off. I used electrical tape and taped the motor in place to the back of the attachment (the side where the little vent is, without covering it very much) so the belt was a little tighter on the gears. The belt was still not as tight as I would have liked but it seemed to stay in place. I replaced the cover, screws, and brush, then connected the attachment to the powervac and it worked! I used it for a minute or two and it did great. I should have taken pictures but I didn't have my phone on me. It was really easy to fix.

Carpet attachment motor shut off and stops after a short time

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC23 Motorhead's brush bar is engineered to shut off for protection if something jams it. This could occur if it catches something like a rug fringe or a shoelace, or if threads or hair are wrapped around the brush bar. To resolve this, please follow the steps shown in our Support video below to clear any debris:

I'm confident this will resolve the issue, but if you would like some further advice from our experts once you've given this a try, please give us a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Shark SV736R motorized brush won't rotate

The 2 metal pins of the motorized brush are not in contact with the vacuum cleaner. or the Motorized brush is clogged up. You have mentioned that it is cleaned, but still give a thorough inspection. For the metal pins, firmly insert the motorized brush into the air-intake nozzle. This will connect the motorized nozzle to the unit power supply.

My dtx1300 burned out when my son kept vacuuming with the bag full suddenly it stop working and I could smell a light burn.what part would do that so I could may be fix it?

the belt that drives the beater bar may have broken. If you noticed a burned rubber smell it was the belt and you can find the part number in your book that came with your machine.

The beater bar on my Kenmore Progressive stopped turning. I tried to clean the hair out of it, then switched it back on. The bar still wasn't turning and then it started to smoke..... lots of smoke,...

The belt is broken.First while looking at the brushes, find the screws that hold that bottom plate on.Remove the screws and the plate comes off. This will allow you to lift the brush out of the vacuum. It is important to make note of how the brush fits in the vacuum. The new belt will fit on a groove on the brush. The other end fits on a small wheel about six inches back from the brush.

Thank you for using Fix Ya.
