I apologize in advance. I don't have a solution to your problem but I'm following the post because I'm experiencing the same issue with my '05 CTS, except mine isn't limited to just the AC.
Have someone else do it ... seriously ... some you replace through the engine compartment some from under the dash. Not sure about a Cadillac. Do a Google search on "How to replace a 2005 Cadillac heater core".
See your Goodyear Dealer for a great recommendation for tires for your Cadillac CTS. Find your dealer listed in the Yellow pages of your telephone directory or search "Goodyear Tires" using your favorite search engine.
Your dealer will instructc you also in techniques for removing the engine cover.
first make sure none of the bulbs are burnt out.... second does your emergency flashers work ? .... under the dash is your flasher relay... you likely will need to replace the flasher unit.... i was looking at the diagram and it's rather horrid in letting me know where it is tho it will be under the dash likely on the drivers side.... when it was working.... and you heard the clicking... that will give you an idea which side.
