HP Toolbox is a Web application that you can use for the following tasks:

You can view the HP Toolbox when the printer is directly connected to your computer or
when it is connected to the network. You must perform a complete software installation in
order to use the HP Toolbox.

You need the HP Toolbox software: Follow these steps to check the ink levels in the Toolbox . The Toolbox is part of the standard printer software. Depending on the version of Toolbox on your computer, the appearance of the Toolbox features might vary. NOTE: Ink level warnings and indicators provide estimates for planning purposes only. When an indicator shows low ink levels, consider having a replacement cartridge available to avoid possible printing delays. Print quality deteriorates as cartridges run out of ink.

1. Click Start .
2. Click Printers and Faxes .
3. Right-click the icon for your printer and then click Printing Preferences .
4. Click the Features tab.
5. Click the Printer Services button. The Toolbox window opens.

Follow these steps to check the estimated ink levels from the HP Printer Toolbox. NOTE: If a refilled or remanufactured print cartridge has been installed, or a cartridge that has been used in another printer, the ink level indicator will be inaccurate or unavailable.

1. Open the Printer Toolbox .
   1. Open HP Solution Center .
   2. Click Settings .
   3. Click Printer Toolbox .
   NOTE: The Printer Toolbox can also be opened from the Print Properties dialog box. In the Print Properties dialog box, click the Services tab and then click Service this device .
2. Click the Estimated Ink Levels tab.

In your HP software "Toolbox" click the "Estimate Ink Level" tab.

To get to the HP "Toolbox"
Click Start > Control Panel > Printers
Right click your printer name, choose "Preferences"
Click the "Services" Tab
Click "Service this Device"

Or if you are not finding it then put in the Disk and Right click explore - setup folder - tool box folder - look for toolbox.msi - right click and install

• Order Supplies Provides access to a Web site where you can order printing supplies for the printer online.

• Preferences Gives you the ability to set advanced Toolbox settings, such as selecting which printer error messages appear, specifying whether you want to be notified by an audio alert when an error occurs, as well as the types of error messages that you want to see. Also, you can turn on myPrintMileage AutoSend, which provides you with a closer forecast of printer usage on the myPrintMileage Web site.

Information

• Printer Information Provides links to myPrintMileage and shows the printer hardware and printhead health information. You can also use the tab to obtain information about accumulated ink and media use, statistics up to the last 20 jobs, and job tracking.
• Help Information Provides links to HP Instant Support and HP Customer Support, as well as to the onscreen user's guide for help in performing tasks and troubleshooting. It also provides instructions that guide you through registering the printer onscreen.

Printer Services

• Align Printheads Guides you through aligning the printheads.
• Clean Printheads Guides you through cleaning the printheads.
• Calibrate Color Allows you to calibrate color manually.
• Print a Demo page Prints a demonstration page. This is used to verify that the printer is connected to the computer correctly and that the printer and printer software are working properly.
• Advanced Configuration Allows you to set tray lock and select a default tray (if Tray 2 is installed).

Printer Toolbox

Use the printer Toolbox to perform the following tasks:

• Align the print cartridges
• Automatically clean print cartridges
• Print a test page
• View estimated ink levels -This is what you would click on.

To open the printer Toolbox

• 1. Open the Printer Properties dialog box.

• 2. Click the Features tab, and then click the Printer services button.

The Toolbox is displayed.

The toolbox software is part of the driver, it wants you to re-run the printer calibration.

Thanks. Without finding Toolbox ( to Clean/Align my printer) I went to Control>Printer>Cick on my printer>Properties>Services>Clean or Align

Interesting that FixYa manages to intervene when I was trying originally to get to HP !!
