Won't print from computer

Try borrowing another suitable printer lead and test with that. If the printer can do a self test, it is likely the printer is not the problem. If that does not work, if you can, use another printer with your computer - but set it up first. Failing that come back for more help

Factory reset

This type of problem is typically caused by one of the ink cartridges which is suffering from marginal electrical performance - either the HP92 (black) or HP93 (color) ink cartridge.

Can you perform the 'Self Test Page' test (see below). If this test is successful then this demonstrates the printer is 'generally operational', but if normal printing is still not permitted then either the HP92 (black) or HP93 (color) ink cartridge is likely electrically damaged and may need to be replaced*.

Perform Self Test Page:
1. Press and hold the CANCEL button.
2. Press the COLOR COPY button. Release both buttons.
3. The self test prints. The printed pattern will verify printer is generally functional. Inspect color bars to verify proper nozzle/jetting health.

-- Inspect printed nozzle stair step patterns - verify all ink nozzles are properly firing. Generally, if the Self Test Page prints ok then the printer is functioning correctly and the problem is with the ink cartridges - replace the suspect ink cartridge and retest. Refer to 2nd video procedure at the following link on how to read the Self Test page test (NOTE: HP74/75 cartridges are electrically identical to the HP92 thru 98 cartridges).

*Many cartridges eventually do encounter problems or failures. Severe cartridge errors are primarily caused by an electrical breakdown at the cartridge's nozzle plate. Ink *********** or corrosion into the nozzle plate will cause a failure of the tiny micro-electronics resulting in a variety of different error messages being displayed - see picture at bottom of this page: http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=1216

It is suggested to install a new HP92 and/or HP93 ink cartridge in it to resolve the current issue.

Why am I receiving this message?

Not a problem with printer, is more likely the computer, the print driver or the dicument you are trying to print, print a windows test page via printer icon to test, if this works ok it is the document, if it dont then it is either your operating system or driver, reinstall driver to elimate this being the most likly issue, to conform it is not the printer, unplug the usb from it and print a self test, I think it is online held down whilst powering up, but I'm not sure on that, anyway do a local copy or any print from printer operations panel and this will prove to you it is not a printer issue..

stack overflow means the program has encounted an error in the data it is trying to process.

994 Service Density Sensor Error Lexmark C912 Color Laserjet

What the error means:

The 994 Density Error indicates that the printer's system card has encountered an unrecoverable error.

What to do:

This error normally requires a service call. However, on certain rare occasions, such as a power fluctuation or a stray static discharge in the vicinity of the printer, can cause a false 994 Density Error message to appear. In such cases, the error is only temporary and can be easily resolved without service. Follow the steps in the table to check.

Step Action
1 Power the printer off, wait ten seconds, and then power the printer back on.

Did the error message return?

Yes: Continue to step 2.
No: Print a test page. If the page prints, the printer is functioning correctly.

2 If possible, connect the printer's power cord directly into a grounded wall outlet. In rare instances, a surge protector or uninterruptible power supply (UPS) can generate false error messages.

Did the error message return?

Yes: Continue to 'Contacting Lexmark' below.
No: Print a test page. If the page prints, the printer is functioning correctly

Contacting Lexmark
