No power light

GFCI's have 4 terminals. 2 marked Load, 2 marked Line. The black and white wires from the power supply MUST be connected to the LINE terminals. The load terminals is where you connect the outgoing circuit (i.e. plug, light etc). Anything connected to the load terminals will be controlled by the GFCI, so when it trips everything on that circuit will go off until you rest it. The other light/switch cannot be connected to the GFI if you want the switch to control it separately.

check your power supply..

First, try pressing and quickly releasing the Power button to start a Power On/Off cycle. Do not hold down the button. If this resolves the problem your done; if not continue on.

Inspect the power cord for visible damage; if damaged will need to contact HP to replace.

Disconnect the power supply (power module and cord) from the power source (wall socket) and the printer.

Test the power source, wall socket with or without your power bar or surge protector in place, with a small appliance you know works to confirm you have power. You may want to test the wall socket first and then test the power bar, etc. to make sure each component is not the problem.

If the appliance works then need to investigate the power supply. If the small appliance does not work you may need to check your electrical panel for a tripped breaker and possibly consult an electrician to check your electrical wiring.

To test the power supply plug in to the working power source; if the green light on the power supply does not light up you will need to contact HP to replace the power supply.

If the green light on the power supply lights up; reconnect to the printer.

Press and quickly release the Power button to turn the printer on. if the printer does not turn on you will need to check the USB cable.

Disconnect the USB cable from the printer.

Press the Power button to turn on the printer; if the printer turns on you will need to replace the USB cable.

If printer does not turn on, check the battery if your printer has one. A red light means the battery requires recharging; if it is still red after recharging, replace the battery.

If none of these steps resolve your issue before replacing the power supply try plugging the power supply directly in to a different working wall socket with no power bar or surge suppressor.; Press the power button.

If still no power to the printer you need to replace the power supply.

Does the fan on the power supply run? As you say the power on switch lights up and so does the motherboard, means that the power supply is working. Monitor gets power from the socket on the power supply. Try plugging it in the wall socket. Try to unplug the main power cord from power supply to the motherboard. The one that has a broad plug at the motherboard end. Replug it and they power on the PC.

If you know how to use a multimeter check your power supply; plug it in and,check for about 19 volts at the computer side of the plug if that is ok; check the motherboard power socket; plug in the power supply and, wiggle the computer side of the plug while it is in the socket while you press and, hold down the power button. If that does not work the motherboard will need professional repair or, replacement.

replace the power supply there are several generic replacements you can get for about 30 - 50 $ first check the voltage output

An orange light is illuminated on the power supply for one of the following reasons:

* The console is turned off.
* The power supply is disconnected from the console.
* The power supply cord is not fully inserted into the power socket of the console.
* The power supply is faulty.
* The console is faulty. (The console might be faulty if it does not turn on when the power supply light is orange.)


The power supply has several built-in safeguards to help prevent damage to either your Xbox 360 console or the power supply itself. The power supply will automatically turn off if either the current flow, the voltage, or the temperature is too high. When the power supply turns off for any of these reasons, the light on the power supply will turn from green (normal) to orange or to red, or the light will turn off. When the power supply light is green, the power supply is working correctly. What you are experiencing is an over heating issue, that may have damaged the supply.

With that being said, i would try to reset the supply by disconnecting the unit from the console, and unplugging the power supply unit from the wall socket for 5 minutes. Once the 5 minutes have passed, reconnect the unit to the console, and plug the power supply into the wall socket. If the console dose not power up, and the supply unit is still showing an orange illuminated operating light, this will confirm that the power supply unit will need to be replaced. TIPS FOR PREVENTING OVERHEATING ISSUES

* Do not block any ventilation openings in the power supply.
* Do not put the power supply on a bed, on a sofa, or on any other soft surface that might block ventilation openings.
* Do not put the power supply in a confined space, such as a bookcase, a rack, or a stereo cabinet, unless the space is well ventilated.
* Do not put the power supply on a stereo speaker, an amplifier, or a heat source such as a radiator or a heat register.
* Do not use an unlicensed accessory, such as a replacement power supply that was not manufactured by Microsoft, or any accessory that plugs in between the Xbox 360 console and the power supply.
* Plug the power supply directly into a working wall outlet. You may have problems with the power supply if you use an extension cord or a power strip if the extension cord or the power strip is faulty or cannot supply the required power to the console.
* If you are not sure about the reliability of an AC power outlet, power circuit, or power cabling, do not use it. Contact an electrician.

If the power supply light is still red, go to step 2. Sounds like a common problem
when you plug the power pack into the laptop its power light goes off because there is a fault. Most commonly this is connected with the plug or the socket into which it goes or the motherboard.
visually inspect the socket, if the central pin is loose thats your problem, if not then check the plug/jack bend the cable on it as these are prone to breaking. wiggle it around whilst checking the power button and status lights if none of that works then you need to strip the laptop and perform a continuity test on the first stage.
ie between socket and motherboard. please note for any sign of exposed cable and remember electricity hurts on contact be carefull. especially if you test motherboard for voltage.
ps the switch is pretty reliable and i would not poke anything in that hole just yet.

may be the light switch or try this unplug refrigerator on screw bulb look in the socket there is a flat side in it the center get a flat screw deiver pull it up a little put back bulb plug unit if it dont light change switch
