Re: Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop, the light in the upper right of the keyboard blinks 4 times orange, 1 time green (repeating), even when the computer is shut down. Does this mean something? My "Product information guide" is useless in troubleshooting.
I honestly believe the problem is your battery needing to be replaced. I would replace the battery, and allow the new batter to fully charge and see if the problem persists. Some batteries, when they start to go bad, can cause shorts, and that may be what's setting of your lights.
Accoding to our DCSE site the blink code 4 Green 1 Amber is a memory problem

It is plugged in when not on.
I do shut it down, rather than just closing the lid.
I do not run it on the battery very often. (In fact, if it is a battery problem I have been getting occasional messages that I might need to replace my battery soon.). Thanks.
Do you leave your laptop plugged in when it's shut down?
Do you actually shut it down or just put it to sleep by closing the lid?
Do you run it on Battery power a lot?
All thes make a difference.
