SOURCE: HP 3915 paper jam error

I had the same problem and just talked with HP technician Neeta and she showed me how to fix it. It's a bit convoluted. In essence you have to clear the print spooler. Here is what she told me.

First you have to be clear that there really ISN'T a paper jam by printing a test message this back door way.

Neeta : The USB cable should be disconnected. Neeta: To print a self-test page, press and hold the Power button. Raise and lower the printer cover four times. Release the Power button, and the self-test page prints

If the sel-test page prints, this means you truly do not have a paper jam. Next, clear the print spooler

Neeta : The USB cable should be disconnected.Neeta : Now click on start->RUN.Neeta : Then type "services.msc".Neeta : Then it will open the services window.Neeta : Now please look for the option "print spooler. Neeta : Okay, now , please right click on the option "print spooler" and click on stop then click on start, 3 times.

Hp deskjet d1560 printer light flashing

After your printer has completed its initial startup you should have a solid green light. If the light indicator is blinking or orange often this is an indication of a printer error. For example, this could indicate a paper jam, issue with the ink or toner cartridge, or other serious error.
Because there is no standard to what a blinking light or orange light means if you're getting either of these we suggest referring to the printer documentation for troubleshooting steps or methods of determining what the status indicator is reporting.

Blinking lights plus E sign for cartridge error -

Look carefully to make sure there is no paper jammed inside. Sometimes there can be a small piece of paper that tore-off in the gears causing a paper jam.

Out of paper error

Hi, the HP printers tell you what's wrong by using the lights on the front. Depending on which lights are on/flashing/off will give a different fix.
If you can let me know the sequence of lights (i.e. resume light blinking plus cartridge light on etc).

Cheers

Blinking Light with no cartridge problems

I believe this is normal with HP deskjets. I have a different model but HP deskjet 3740, which also gives a blinking light when there is a pending print job and or printer has run out of paper. I usually get rid of this problem by putting some paper and most importantly removing and re-plugging the printer power cord (which does a basic power reset on the printer and causes a refresh of pending print jobs). I hope this works for you too.

Blinking lights on my hp deskjet 840c printer

There should be some error .So you know how to remove the catridges just remove it n re insert it properly. If there are any paper jams try removing it also.and by the way if you haven't installed the drivers for HP deskjet this problem may arise. So make sure you ahve don this. Also this can be happened if the printer have some hardware problems. So none of this solutions are working its better to consult it with an expert.
