Hi try to reset ur camera...To do such reset, turn on the camera and hold the menu button down for longer than 5 seconds. A message should hopefully come up on your LCD asking if you want to reset the camera. Select Yes...

thank u!!!

Flash will not pop up

Alot problems with this...

The pop up flash only pops up half the way. We had a large dinner party the other night and tried to take pics only to find the flash would not go off. Later, I manually lifted the flash all the way open and took pic and flash did go off. Battery fully charged. In auto mode. Camera only 2-3 years old! Really upset. Went to the web to see if others have same problem AND THEY DO!!! Several have the half pop flash and resolve it by holding the flash up manually. So thought this was a global problem and Chatted with Kodak Customer Service (puleeese). They said, sorry, but $150 to fix or 25% off upgrade camera.

Think it before take some choice.

Flash won't pop up all the way open.

What has happened is a tiny little spring has broken inside or gotten out of position. Rather than try to fix that, get a thin rubberband (with circular, not flat, cross section) of the proper length as determined as follows. When you turn on the camera, select "force flash", and then half-press the shutter button, you'll be able to lift the flash unit with a fingernail under the crack separating it from the rest of the camera. Once open, put your thin rubberband under the black plastic "ridge" at the front of the flash unit; this ridge is just above the glass-enclased flash tube. As you pull the thin rubberband toward the back of the camera, put a half-rotation into it so that the rubberband crosses over it self (makes an X ) halfway back. One of the X-loops is under the ridge. Put the other X-loop around and under the eyeball-viewing protrusion on the back of the camera. If the rubberband is short enough (but not too short), it will have enough stretchy force to hold the flash unit in the fully open ("up") position. If you're lucky, it may also pop it open when the flash is called for. If not, use your fingernail and just let the thin rubberband hold it in the up position. It works for me.

Cannon error 05

Error 05 means that something mechanically prevents built in flash to pop up. Ensure that nothing is blocking flash. Switch in P mode and press flash button to pop it up. If it does not pop up - try _gently_ to help it to pop up. If you succed in popping up the flash - check it for any dirt with can prevent flash from popping up.

The built-in flash on my Canon EOS 450D camera won't pop-up

Had the same issue and just tried this....and it worls [PS dont use the littel plastic hotshoe cover as this keeps the microswitch depressed]

EXACT same problem. Tonight I tried to take a picture and heard a loud pop sound but I didn't think it was my camera... anyway it took the picture but didn't use the flash. Later, my sister went to take a picture with the flash and it made the same loud pop noise and now the camera wont work if the flash is on.
