Your best bet is to turn them all the way in and go one and a half turns out on both sides. Do not go less then a whole turn. You can ruin you motor.

SOURCE: What is the factory setting for the throttle and

Workshop Manual for a Husky 357XP/359 (2006 - I will wager yours is similar) follows:
The Husky workshop manual on Appendix A (USA, this probably does not apply to your vintage saw) says "H" 3/4 turn CCW from lightly seated. "L" 1.5 turns CCW from lightly seated.
Page 36 (every other nation on earth) 1 turn CCW from lightly seated for both the "H & L" needles. There is no recommended initial "T" setting. (from manual) "The idling speed is correctly set when the engine runs smoothly in all positions and there is a clear margin to the speed at which the chain starts to move".
These are initial settings and the saw needs to be adjusted for performance. Start with a clean air filter and a fresh fuel mix. I could not find an OM for a 1994, a 1995 says mix @ 50:1 per Husky (1 gallon of premium fuel to 2.6 ounces of quality 2-cycle oil).

This explains performance carburetor adjustment better than I can:
Carburetor Adjustment by Madsens.com
http://www.madsens1.com/saw%20carb%20tune.htm
CW is leaner; to lean will destroy the saw. If over tightened closed (CW) the adjustment screw faces are easily marred; marred adjustments are difficult to impossible to set properly.
Clean the air filter; adjusting with a dirty filter can cause a run lean condition once cleaned and the saw run.

There are 2 wav (sound - idle & full – may not be highlighted) files that I find most helpful, I think you will too. Good Luck. HTH.

McCulloch mt210 strimmer idling to fast

Some carbs have obvious adjustments ("H" for high speed, "L" for low speed or idle. )

Some however are hidden. Heres a video showing how to find theses hidden adjustments.

Hi, I have a Mac-3200 and need to know where to set the 3 carb. screws at. T, low and high I don't have a manual Thank you. Z-man

Most guys adjust them 'by ear'. Warm up the saw (hopefully you can get it to start), and set the high speed by opening the screw until it sounds like it is 'burbling' at wide open throttle. DO NOT adjust until it is screaming at its highes attainable rpm !!!! If you do, the mixture will be so lean it will damage the saw under repeated heavy load. Leaving it 'burble' at WOT (wide open throttle) will ensure that proper lubrication will be available in the cut. Under load, the burble will disappear and the saw should pull strong and not overheat, damage the piston or score the cylinder wall.

Next set the low speed screw until there is no hesitation in rpm increase when the trigger is pulled. Some suggest setting the low speed first then the high speed so you may have to readjust the high speed once the low speed is done.

The idle screw should be adjusted to where the chain is NOT rotating the guide bar at idle. If it continues to move, the idle is too high.

Model 60013302. Where can I get a user or repair manual?

Not a repair manual, I know but the following link takes you to the exploded diagram for parts purposes. At least you can see what is behind the covers. Hope it is of some help.

What's the oil/gas mix ratio on a Mac130.. and also what are the factory/normal settings on the high/low carb adjustments screws.

Run it at 25-1 with a good two stroke oil, base settings are 1 turn on the high and 1 1/4 on the low, you will need to fine tune from there.

On a mcculloch 3200 what is the high and low settings of the needel vales on the carb?

Make sure the air cleaner is clean. Turn both jet needles CW to stops (lightly), then back each out CCW 1-1/2 turns. The engine should start and run--allow to warm up, then pull the throttle full on. Turn the H needle CW until the engine starts to speed up, but still 4-stroking. Final adjustment is when the engine 4-strokes no load, but immediately 2-strokes when cutting. Release the throttle and adjust L needle CW until the engine idles fairly well, but will allow the engine to follow the throttle. Adjust the idle speed screw so that the chain doesn't turn and the engine continues to run. Hope this helps!

Need intructions on carberator adjustments for mac-3514 35cc/cm3 runs but hard to start after using it for few minutes.

There is a low speed jet and high speed. Low speed sets the idle or stays running without feathering the throttle./// When setting high speed, hold the throttle wide open until engine revs high, then turn back in(at least ¼ turn) to slow the engine which in turn gives the engine more gas and runs cooler. If you have it too lean on the high speed, it will be hot and hard to start. Sometimes using 40 to 1 mix helps with starting, especially on older chainsaw. good luck

The second hand McCulloch 120 chainsaw I purchased

I think the pre-adjust settings are to turn jets in all the way and back out 1.5 turns each. then:

You will find a Low and High adjustment screw. At idle turn the screw in or clockwise until the rps starts to decrease. Then start turning it out till you hit max idle rpms. Turn screw back in a quarter to half turn and it should be idling smoothly. Be careful here and get someone to hold saw if necessary but hold in throttle to full speed and do the same with high adjustment screw. turn it in till rpm starts to drop then back it out until you get to max rpm and it won't go any higher then turn it back in a half a turn.

I would like to know how to adjust the carburator of McCulloch 3516 chainsaw 35cc/cm 46759-77

the carbuator has two 2 adjusting screws on it.one is high side and the other is low side.start by turnig them both in until they touch bottom.now turn them both out 1 1/2 turns.this should start and run saw.throttle saw up to full throttle and adjust high side in until you get the best RPM out of saw.do not adjust high side any less then 7/8 turn out from bottom.if you do you will burn saw up from to lean burn.once the high sie is set now adjust low side until the saw will idle by it's self.let me know if this helped you.......

Set the carb on 3516

Both the High and low speed jets need to be 1 1/2 turns open. Then fine tune from there.
