My craftsman chain saw 18 will not start
The 3 things needed for an engine to run:
1. Compression (Cylinder, Piston, rings, gaskets)
2. Ignition (Spark plug, ignition module/coil)
3. Fuel (Fuel lines, Carburetor, gaskets, bad fuel)
More than Likely I would start by checking fuel related since that is usually the biggest offender (fuel lines broken/dry rotted, bad carb.)

Rope hard to pull, engine spins freely with plug
First off Husqvarna does not make Craftsman chainsaws. Chainsaws are very high compression usually 125 to 150 lbs. pulling the rope slowly will make it very hard to pull. Short fast pulls are best, this allow the flywheel to build momentum to get it past the compression portion of the piston trvavel.

Correct adjustment
there are two adjusting screws on the crab one with a H and one L tightening the H one untill it stops then turn back one and a quarter turns start the engine rev the engine and adjust the screw from there ..

My chainsaw quite suddenly. i restarted it but
1. The kickback brake, if equipped, was triggered to stop the chain.
2. The chain is jammed with saw dust/debris (it doesn't take much)
3. the bar sprocket is damaged.
4. The chain guide teeth are damaged and not sliding through the bar guide groove smoothly
5. The chain is adjusted too tightly.
6. You are out of bar oil and friction has stopped it/damaged the bar and/or chain
7. The motor sprocket clutch is damaged.
That should cover all of the basics to look over.

How do you access the crankcase of a husqvarna
Your best solution is to tip the engine up-side-down and shake the object out of the plug hole. You really don't want to pull the crank and piston which has rings, that will need to be properly reinstalled with a ring compression tool, as well as the crank and connecting rod bearings. Big job.

What is the factory settings on a craftsman 2.3
tighten the two air screws to just tight then slacken them to one and a half turns start the engine and adjust the low screw until tick over then open the throttle to full and adjust the high screw if it cuts out take the high screw to one turn and try that then adjust from there

What is carburetor setting on a2.3 chainsaw
There is no fixed carburetor setting on these engines, just two screws to adjust low-end and high-end operation. Special tool may be required, there are about a half-dozen screw head standards. Check eBay for tool. Get the engine to run and idle fast (idle adjust) so it doesn't stall, adjust low-end screw so that engine doesn't hesitate or sputter when accelerated. Adjust high-end screw to run fast and smooth on full throtle. Readjust idle to normal.
