If you pull it apart make sure the roller and the belt is free of debris. And I would check the belt to see if it broken or real loose. If so contact Shark and see if they will send a replacement . (It may cost a few bucks) At least this is a first start hopefully it helps?
You have to remove All the screws, and you are correct they are almost impossible, after that most of the part's also snap together, so you almost have to break it to take apart, a vacuum repair shop knows all the tricks to opening these up....
