Go to www.hp.com, click support. Type in the box about halfway down in the middle of the page the exact model that's on the printer, like - officejet pro 7710xi, that will take you to the drivers page for that printer, find the one that says Full feature software, download it, first unplug your printer from the computer, then run the software and follow the instructions

Why can't I connect my printer to my desktop?

It sounds like you are trying to connect wirelessly.
Have you reset the printer settings?
Also the printer software needs to be loaded.
If you do not have the disk, go to: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=3390949&
choose your operating system and download the complete software package.
Hook up the printer by cable and install the software (follow the instructions the install gives).
Also, if the printer was hooked up in a network, you will have to reset the network information on the printer. The HP site above has instructions and manuals that can be downloaded.

Dell Dimension 4550 and HP printer 2410. Everytime computer is turned on, it detects new hardware and reinstalls the printer, and repeats the process again. After that, the printer seems to work OK.

disconnect the printer, go into device manager and delete all the printers listed there. go onto the printer manufacturer website and download the drivers manually then install them. Hook the printer back up.

Your install disk may have been distributed before the release of Win7. You could download and install the full-featured software from HP support: (choose your operating system)

Installing a PSC 1200 Series

Have you already hooked it up? If so you will have to uninstall it. go to control panel, then printers and faxes click on your printer and uninstall it and unplug the USB cord from your PC. then run your install disk you got with the printer, if you don't have one you may be able to get one from HP or download the correct driver from their website. once you run the install CD follow the onscreen instructions and don't hook the printer to the PC until it tells you to.

I need to hookup an HP Deskjet 5550 printer to my Dell laptap, but can't because I lost the installer CD. How can I hook it up?

Hello,

No problem. Go to HP DeskJet 5550 Support

Select Software & Driver downloads.

Next page select your operating system.

Then you will get a list of available software to download for your printer. There is also a link for many OS to order a new CD.

When you download the software the easiest thing is to Save it to your Desktop. Then you can Run it (double-click) at your convenience.

You might also find this link a good one: DeskJet 5550 Setup

Thanks for using Fixya.

How to hook up this printer wireless to my main computer

Hi jjank740;

First off, did you try to recycle your printer? Turn it off and back on again. Sometimes power outages can disconnect that printer. If that doesn't work. Go to the printer and access the system network configuration on the led panel. Type in the WEP number and password again, and let it search for the connection. That should do it. Once it's connected you'll see the blue wireless indicator turn on.

Good Luck

Mark

I have a new printer i have everything connected i have a usb connection. im having problems with installing it to the pc my driver acts like it wont read the cd im trying to hook to a dell pc and this...

Normally you install the software before yo plug in the printer. Are you getting some kind of read error when you try to install the CD? You could try to use the disk on another PC to see if it is all right. If not, then you could download the software from HP.com and run it that way.

Scanner won't work on Dell 924

Same thing happened to me, only different model.

First, make sure you have the right drivers (and by that I mean 32-bit or 64-bit).

Go to control panel and remove your previous installation; reboot; reload the drivers with your All-In-One UNPLUGGED until they tell you to plug it in.

That was the trick that worked for me. Good Luck.

any other issues or it's still not working please leave a comment here ... i'll sort it out or someone more knowledgable then myself will.

One thing you may know off hand but might not have been asked. Is that a 64 bit operating system by chance... also designated as x64.
